The Bloodhorse.com has an article about The Pamplemousse, who was a star 3-three-year-old before suffering an injury that ruined his racing career. He is now being trained as a 3-day eventing horse. There's a photo. He looks wonderful.

I remember The Pamplemousse, a horse so fast that his workout speeds became an urban legend. 45 MPH+, or something like that. 8-)
He's gorgeous!. I think it's wonderful that he apparently has the temperament to tackle such a demanding sport while still a stallion. I'd want one of his foals...little 'Moussies.

He was scratched from the 2009 Santa Anita Derby with a tendon issue.

He didn't race again, but wasn't retired until fall of 2010. Maybe with such a talented colt, his connections kept hoping that he would recover with enough time off. Guess that didn't happen.
