Isn't Bern Identity in Jamaica as well? He will be in good company. Midnight Hawk is a beautiful colt. I wish him the best

2 for 25 millionaire miler. A different trainer might have actually had more wins with him. If my memory is correct he was a nutball, something I personally don't love in a racehorse.

Building upon that....
"He came back out of the work and wasn't 100%," said Hartman...... He's got a little minor injury to his leg. Actually, the horse is perfect today, but it's one of those situations where he can't go forward. He is a fast horse and we don't want to have anything happen to him. We're not going to risk the horse in any fashion."

Hartman said Alsvid is now at nearby Step Ahead Farm, where he will wind down for approximately 45 days before shipping to Rogers' ranch in Oklahoma.

They haven't disclosed what his injury is, but it definitely sounds like they're doing right by him. I commend them for it. Happy retirement, Alsvid!

Now this article has just been changed to say Mr. Z is at Calumet, and it now includes a correction. I don't think he's actually retired.
Correction: The original version of this article incorrectly stated a decision has been made to retire Mr. Z.

Haha, just kidding Mr. Z, you can retire if you win another race, or get to 2 wins in 50 starts, whichever comes first.

Either one might be a tall order. If those were really the stipulations, he could be racing when he is 14...

That's good to hear. He may not have won all the races his connections hoped he would, but he was resolute and durable. And he is a gorgeous horse. Wishing him luck in his new career.

I always loved his name, and I think Jump Start is underrated. PFR is definitely a good regional sire prospect.

Happy Retirement, Arthur. Glad they caught it in time by doing an exercising electrocardiogram. This would be cool.
Allison has requested that the ground jury still allow Arthur to complete his dressage test at Rolex next week before withdrawing from the competition to begin his retirement. An official retirement ceremony will be announced soon.

Multiple Grade 1 Winner I'm a Chatterbox Retired
She's been a familiar sight these past few years, a fireball chestnut galloping fiercely in the morning around ovals across the country with trainer Larry Jones along for the ride.

Now Fletcher and Carolyn Gray's gritty homebred I'm a Chatterbox will transition into her second career, as a broodmare whose first visit will come this season to Darley stallion Medaglia d'Oro . The multiple grade 1 winner has been retired, Jones said April 25.

"She's got some bone bruising, nothing bad and nothing to keep her from racing. But it would take three months to deal with it, and three months to get her back ready to go, and at that point you're already looking at late October, and you've missed the Breeders' Cup," Jones explained. "She's already 5, and the plan wasn't going to be to race her at 6 anyway, we were just going to race her this year."
