Phil Georgeff - RIP

Postby WarBiscuit » Sat Nov 12, 2016 3:30 pm

The voice of Illinois racing at Arlington and Hawthorne for a long span of years, Phil Georgeff, passed away last Monday (11/7/16) at the age of 85. Not only a
distinctive race caller, but a superb author as well. Personally, I think his book about Citation is one of the best horse bios out there, and highly recommended.
Nice guy too. I once had some questions about the Citation book, and he responded quickly - could not have been more gracious and helpful. And so we lose yet
another valuable connection to the past. RIP, Mr. Georgeff.
