Once a Baffert-trainee on the TC trail, this 6-year-old gelding is dropped in for $4000 at Delaware on Saturday
He was a DNF last race in March at Aqueduct. Get home safe buddy.
I should add he has one 3/4 work since March.

Claimed July 28 by Larry Jones for $5000. Read that the owner claimed Jones claimed the horse for an unlicensed 3rd party, then retracted the complaint.
Hoping he's being retired.

2013 pre-Derby favorite retired with famous help
A 2013 pre-Derby favorite, who sold as a yearling for over $400,000, was claimed and retired this summer in an all-out effort backed by Triple Crown winning trainer Bob Baffert and famous trainer Larry Jones.

Baffert wrote a check immediately upon learning his former racehorse War Academy, a stunning mount whose own Kentucky Derby bid was derailed, was now running in a $4,000 claimer.

According to Thoroughbred advocate Dreux Flaherty of Texas, Baffert only needed to hear her words, “I’m calling about War Academy,” before he quickly asked, “Where is he?” And then followed up with the pledge to offer financial assistance to an online, social media effort to retire the horse.

Glad to see he found a soft landing. Kudos to Baffert and Jones.

Awesome! This is the best news, his drop down the ranks was worrisome especially with the DNFs.
He's a babe!

He's listed as available for sponsorship on a flyer I got from United Pegasus Foundation. :?
I ran marathons. I saw the Taj Mahal by Moonlight. I drove Highway 1 in a convertible. I petted Zenyatta.

I noticed it was a chestnut--just didn't occur to me there would be two so close. Hope the "real" WA is doing well. Thanks for the clarification.

Also listed is Bollywood, an ultra expensive Baffert/Shah flop. Maybe I'll inquire about him. :)
