That portrait reminds me of Zenyatta ...are we seeing a likeness to Kris S. in both Arch and Zen?

Terribly sad news. :(
Bless the broodmares. They are the wellspring of the breed, and all too often give their lives providing the next generation.

Horrible news, and a double tragedy that both mare and foal were lost.

This hurts beyond measure. I loved this mare, and her foal is gone, too. This is a tragedy.
Needed to take a minute at work to digest this. Damn.

When foaling goes according to plan, it's a wonderful thing. But, when they go wrong, (like a red bag delivery), it goes bad quickly. It's tragic for all involved.

I had dreams about our lost mamas last night and also dreamt that A. P. Indy went (God Forbid!). Funny how your dreams come out with such a sad turn of events.

German G1-winning filly Lovelyn (Tiger Hill x Laurella by Acatenango) was found dead in the barn in the morning. An autopsy revealed that she had somehow fractured her pelvis and died of internal bleeding during the night. What a horrible death and what a blow for her owner-breeder and German breeding in general. She was from Tiger Hill's second to last crop and clearly one of his best offspring, from one of Germany's best families. I always loved watching her run; she had a huge heart and will to win.
