Euthanized, per DRFs' Dunleavy.

:( That is a horrible way for a race meant to honor a fine racehorse, who died on the track, to end.

Yes and I'm sorry to see GSW Second City end the way, too.

It looked like Resiliency was eased in the Lexington at Keeneland. He appeared to take a bad step approaching the last turn and slowed back through the field. Lost sight of him on camera, but I did catch a glimpse of one of the outriders sprinting back up the stretch. :(

Does anyone know the status of Big Red Rocket who was vanned off the 8th race at Churchill?

Sadly, according to his facebook page, he was euthanized - per Fletcher Racing.

RIP Big Red Rocket.

That is doubly sad. BRR was a son of Summer Bird out of a Tapit mare...a lovely pedigree. And we lost Summer Bird several years ago, so losing a nice son of his really sucks. :(

Royal Mo was vanned off in an air cast this morning. I haven't seen anything from any of the publications yet.

I read it in a post on FB and here in The Preakness thread in the racing section.

*fingers crossed*

Trailer has arrived to pick up Royal Mo. He's likely heading to New Bolton in Pennsylvania.

DRF article here (says free): https://t.co/dkpOB0fhJw

Shirreffs said fracture was contained to sesamoid, did not involve condyle, surgery unlikely. Royal Mo headed to New Bolton to be monitored.

Two horses I follow were pulled up at Churchill today.

Bodie Ramsey in the 2nd. Chart says he was vanned off.

Areed in the 10th. It's too soon for the chart to be up so I don't know what happened.

Both horses were far back in the race and off the screen when they pulled up.

According to BH, Uncle Mo did have surgery which was successful in repairing the fracture but now comes the recovery with the usual worries of possible infection, support limb laminitis, etc. Poor beasties sure go through hell to be well. I hope this time next year all of this will be far behind him and he's feeling the sun on his back at a great stallion farm.

Areed was claimed, chart stated "bothered early on".

Sudden Sam fell hard in the stretch of the 7th at Santa Anita--he was clear, so didn't clip heels--but TVG reported that he walked onto the ambulance? :? Hard to imagine that he didn't suffer a catastrophic injury. . . Jockey Kyle Frey managed to roll under the rail and avoid the rest of the field.
