So glad he is doing well. I wonder if they are doing anything proactive to prevent laminitis such as ice boots like they did with Paynter? I wonder what the white marks on his face are from- abrasions from recovery?

This gives me even more hope for his recovery. What a good boy.

OMG. I am so happy to receive this photo tonight from Dr. Kelli Beavers of LSU equine hospital. He’s back to his old tricks. Have a great night. I can’t stop smiling!!

So Dr. McCauley from LSU sent me this picture of The Player this morning and it looks like he is doing well. Then Kim sent me a picture of his little sister(by Temple City) so it runs in the family. On a sad note my brother and I had a 2 year old out of Groupie Doll’s half sister break his back this morning in a freak accident in a paddock at the training center where he was preparing to come to me. It’s sad that he had to be put down and such a nice animal to be around.

The Player's FB page is run by his trainer, Buff Bradley. Buff ran a page for Groupie Doll and Brass Hat until they retired and he changed the name of the page to Bradley Racing Stable & Indian Ridge Farm. He also has a personal FB page but that one is not public. He's posting updates about The Player on The Player's FB page and those words above are Buff's. (I don't know how he can handle multiple FB pages. I can't even see or do much on my one FB page. It's a lot quicker to scroll through Twitter than FB.) Buff clearly loves his horses and he and the farm are excellent about keeping folks up-to-date. When Buff returned to Kentucky, he posted this on the Bradley Racing Stable & Indian Ridge Farm page.

Bradley Racing Stable & Indian Ridge Farm is with William Buff Bradley at Indian Ridge Farm / OTTBs / English Riding Lessons.

In the 11th and last at Keeneland, the #9 horse Hazel Ann I Am went down in the stretch. When she got up, it seemed clear she was injured. :(

TVG just showed Victor walking into the jock's room, so it appears he is OK. The filly was vanned off, so we'll have to wait to see if there are any updates on her after she's examined back at her barn.

Another positive update from Buff. He sure has a novel way of taking weight off his legs.

The staff from LSU sent this to me a few days ago! Anyhow Angus is doing very well and still making progress. Glad to see him being his normal self. I am still hoping he will get to come home in a few weeks.

Ten Blessings, Indian Blessing's boy, just went wrong in the Kona Gold Stakes at Santa Anita. Took a while to get him stopped, so I worry about more damage to his original injury. :(

My heart is pounding...been following him from the beginning.

Injury appears to be Ten Blessings' left front. Splint is on the leg and he's been loaded into the equine ambulance.

Bullard's Alley went wrong and pulled up early in Elkhorn. Looks like a hind leg issue. Will update ASAP. #Keeneland

Bullard's Alley was pulled up soon after the start of the Dixiana Elkhorn at Keeneland.
I hate having to post so often in this thread.

Corey Lanerie, aboard Bullard's Alley, says he believes horse broke left hind limb. Again, will have more details on horse's condition and status as soon as possible.

UPDATE: The Player(Angus) is holding his own. He had a few rough days this past week due to some infection in his bad leg and swelling in his tendon on the same leg. He is back on antibiotics which seems to be helping. The x-rays are showing healing which is a very good sign and x-rays show no change in the feet which means no laminitis at this time. All of this is good news but has had us very worried for the last several days with the swelling and discomfort. Dr. McCauley has pulled out all stops to help keep the swelling and discomfort down and now doing game ready and hydro therapy on him several times a day. Angus is one tough dude but still needs that good vibes and prayers. PRAYERS FOR PLAYER!! We are still very hopeful that he continues to heal and will be able to come back to Indian Ridge Farm!
