TVG just showed Victor walking into the jock's room, so it appears he is OK. The filly was vanned off, so we'll have to wait to see if there are any updates on her after she's examined back at her barn.

Another positive update from Buff. He sure has a novel way of taking weight off his legs.

The staff from LSU sent this to me a few days ago! Anyhow Angus is doing very well and still making progress. Glad to see him being his normal self. I am still hoping he will get to come home in a few weeks.

Ten Blessings, Indian Blessing's boy, just went wrong in the Kona Gold Stakes at Santa Anita. Took a while to get him stopped, so I worry about more damage to his original injury. :(

My heart is pounding...been following him from the beginning.

Injury appears to be Ten Blessings' left front. Splint is on the leg and he's been loaded into the equine ambulance.

Ugh, time to turn off the TV.

Bullard's Alley went wrong and pulled up early in Elkhorn. Looks like a hind leg issue. Will update ASAP. #Keeneland

Bullard's Alley was pulled up soon after the start of the Dixiana Elkhorn at Keeneland.
I hate having to post so often in this thread.

Corey Lanerie, aboard Bullard's Alley, says he believes horse broke left hind limb. Again, will have more details on horse's condition and status as soon as possible.

UPDATE: The Player(Angus) is holding his own. He had a few rough days this past week due to some infection in his bad leg and swelling in his tendon on the same leg. He is back on antibiotics which seems to be helping. The x-rays are showing healing which is a very good sign and x-rays show no change in the feet which means no laminitis at this time. All of this is good news but has had us very worried for the last several days with the swelling and discomfort. Dr. McCauley has pulled out all stops to help keep the swelling and discomfort down and now doing game ready and hydro therapy on him several times a day. Angus is one tough dude but still needs that good vibes and prayers. PRAYERS FOR PLAYER!! We are still very hopeful that he continues to heal and will be able to come back to Indian Ridge Farm!

Here's today's update via FB via Twitter:

Dr. Chuck McCauley of LSU contacted me today to say that while Angus is not sound but that it was his best walking day yet since his surgery. It’s been just over a month since it happened and it looks like he will be there for another month before he can come home. His attitude is great and he is still being a great patient. Things are on the upswing. Thanks for all the well wishes and prayers for The Player.

Thanks, lurkey mclurker. I didn't post that update because nobody responded to earlier ones and I wasn't sure if anyone was following this closely. It sounds positive but these things can go south in a hurry. I think this horse and his connections deserve a happy outcome, not that they all don't, but they deserve it more than most. #prayersforangus

Oh I've been reading your updates and I thought you would be interested so that's why I posted this one, LOL... I'm usually reading though I don't always respond, sometimes I see my name on a few threads and think I'm talking too much. :?

I also have read each post and appreciate all of them, particularly the positive ones albeit with my heart in my mouth. I don't post much but I've been reading along for quite a while. I sincerely hope that this guy and his loving people will look back on this from a good place not too far into the future and know the faceless cheering section was rallying for them all along.

I'm really glad to see The Player has fans here cheering him along in his recovery. I often question why some horses I've never met touch me more than others, but this kooky guy really stole my heart. And I've been following Buff and team for a very long time, mostly on Facebook. I'm not surprised that others feel the same, but just thought maybe I was clogging this thread with too-frequent updates. The Player's road ahead is filled with perils but, hopefully, we can keep the positive updates coming! :D

How can you not love a colt who just wants someone to pull his tongue? While sitting on his rump like an oversized Irish Setter?
I really hope he recovers completely.

I was able to visit the Bradley farm in Frankfort, KY when The Player was a foal and called Angus and was looking for peppermints in our pockets. Of course, I've been following him ever since. So glad for this recent update that things look to be on the upswing. Good people around this horse from the beginning. I wonder if a successful outcome would have bearing on others in the future when making a decision on horses breaking down with this injury?

So good to see him! He really looks great. Dr. Chuck McCauley and his staff at LSU have done a wonderful job taking care of the big boy. Still has a way to go but going in the right direction.
