Sorry to hear about the malignancy, but it is very good news that it is not pancreatic, and also that she won't need chemo or radiation.

Ugh; I work in a cancer center and I am so tired of seeing people suffering from this terrible malady. I hate it.

Even though it's probably like betting on a 3/5 shot, I'll bet she'll be at opening day of Saratoga providing us with pictures from the backstretch, thanks in advance!
I've found it easier to tear up tickets at 8/1 instead of 8/5.

Oh dear. =( My thoughts are with you Bal.
Not a wholesome trottin' race, no, but a race where they sit down right on the horse!
Like to see some stuck-up jockey boy sittin' on Dan Patch? Make your blood boil? Well, I should say!

Not sure about the radiation or Chemo. Generally, if they can get the full tumor out and get to healthy tissue- it's is not needed. We won't know for sure until they get in.

Latest on Bal via her good friend Tammy-
The surgeon wants to do the surgery tomorrow. Concerning, considering just the other day they were willing to wait 2-3 weeks( or perhaps she's demanding it :D ). Apparently, it's a complex surgery, she will be under for approximately 4 hours. Will let you all know any updates.

Prayers and hugs.

This is the 1st time in 2-1/2 wks I've been able to sit up and type.

Fractured right leg femur in 2 places trying to walk across a very slippery, old wooden deck on Dec, 15. Same day, 14" pin and 2 screws inserted. Talk about painful. Still can't walk even poorly on that leg. A few days later I and others noticed my skin turning yellow. Jaundice was noticed. It was coincidental to the fall. Condition grew worse with each passing day. Several GA tests were done which revealed a mass growing into the pancreas and a 100% full blockage of the bile ducts. Biopsy shows it cancerous Stage T2A Ampullary cancer. http://www.medindia.net/patients/patien ... cancer.htm

Will write more as I learn more.

Thanks everyone.
