There are worse things than waking up to see George Clooney, Idris Elba, and David Beckham in formal wear. :D

50 years ago today I married this man - Bill. I waited a good long time before I decided with whom I wanted to spend the rest of my life. My instincts never let me down. :-)

Congrats Bal, and just think that quite a few posters here still have an opportunity to celebrate their own Golden Anniversary!

I've been on the hunt for a concert, (I attend quite a few Country/Western events) where the crowd wouldn't be standing in front of me with their arms outstretched holding their phones while filming everything.

Short of going to the opera I figured I found the perfect show, where most of the audience remembered the songs from when they were first introduced in the 60's. Sure enough, there were plenty of walkers and the only cellphones were the flip variety.

In Las Vegas Wednesday night for the Righteous Brother(s) act. It was absolutely great. But, throughout the entire show I couldn't help but think maybe I've been spending too much time on the Triple Crown trail. But this guy Bill Medley, from the tuxedo jacket and starched white shirt to the black jeans and the Lucchese Alligator boots, was a dead ringer for DWayne Lukas!

When he was telling stories between songs, whether it was about being the opening act for the Beatles, or LittleLatinLupeLu, Ghost's Unchained Melody or Top Gun's You've Lost That Lovin Feeling you would've sworn it was Lukas telling a tale about Cat Thief, Winning Colors or Lady's Secret.

Here's a short clip I found of Medley, but remember it's a from a few years back, now at age 77 the comparison to DWL is even more remarkable.

IMHO, Bill Medley may have the most amazing voice in rock/pop/country music I've ever heard. :D

Congrats, Bal! You look so magnificently classy in that wedding photo. LOVE the veil!

My happiness is that I'm working on a small veggie and berry farm for the summer. 8 hours in the sun and dirt. I'm sore and tired and just got my first gnarly sunburn of the season. I am incandescently happy. Office work can suck it.
Not a wholesome trottin' race, no, but a race where they sit down right on the horse!
Like to see some stuck-up jockey boy sittin' on Dan Patch? Make your blood boil? Well, I should say!

It's not work if it makes you happy. Happy for you.

Happiness is getting over stomach flu (or bug or virus or whatever I had). It's so boring, being sick. I'm dragging myself back to work tomorrow, armed with anti-nausea meds and a fake smile! :D

Canada has decided to legalize marijuana for recreational use after a bill was passed by its senate on Tuesday.

America’s northern neighbor will become the first G-7 industrialized nation and only the second in the world to have a legal nationwide cannabis market after the 52 to 29 vote.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau hopes that legalizing the drug will have a positive effect overall.

“It’s been too easy for our kids to get marijuana—and for criminals to reap the profits,” Trudeau said on Twitter.

The only other country to legalize the cultivation, distribution and consumption of cannabis is Uruguay, where the government has aimed to take that business model away from criminals. In Canada, medical marijuana was already legal.
