It's been a long, weird journey... but as of today I am officially Dr. Tessa.

A rousing cheer for a long fought for goal that is finally attained! Way to go, Dr. Tessa!

Thank you both! Gonna take a while to adjust to no longer having a clearly defined life goal, but it's good to be done.

Congrats. Has it even sunk in yet?

Thank you! It has and it hasn't, I don't feel any different but I am going through kind of an existential crisis so... hopefully that resolves soon.

You're just at a station waiting for the next train. Gloat a little bit!

I'm so tired. I'm so happy I don't have to wake up early tomorrow. I might set my alarm for 6 just to turn it off.

Ha, okay, I will try to think about it that way! Bow down to me, mortals :D

Glad you get to have a break and enjoy the raceday tomorrow. I also can't wait to just relax, follow the races, and rage about the coverage with everyone on here. One of the best days of the year.

Congrats, Tessa. Myself, I'm hoping to be a technical writer by fall so seeing others succeed in reaching their career goals motivates me too. ;)

Thank you, and best of luck to you in your endeavors! You totally got this :D And technical writing is a great field to get into, I've see sooo many of those jobs pop up as I've been doing my own job hunt.

^^Great accomplishment, Tessablue, congratulations! ^^

I feel very happy today. Just had my first post-op appointment after surgery for an extremely rare but apparently non-malignant tumor in my head. It was totally removed by a very skilled surgeon trained in endoscopic skull-based surgery. After knowing it could be cancer which would require extensive and invasive surgery and reconstruction, I'm on the other side of this horror without even so much as an external scar! God is good!

I love watching Celtic fans suffer to death.

When do the NBA playoffs start?

Without even really doing anything, I fell into the perfect postdoc, and now I have a desperately-needed year to figure my life out. Felt a little lucky and unworthy about it, then my boss gave me an inspirational speech about how "we make our own luck" and "I wouldn't have offered this job if you sucked."

A raise, another year with my friends in Boston, Saratoga in a month and a break from the hard work until September... I'll take it.
