How close are they to their CH. certification?

Long way away - they only have 2 pts. apiece. It's not like we've shown them that much. Yesterday and today was their 5th and 6th show. They're becoming grown up dogs - not puppies any longer - and ready to win in the show ring.

Wow.

They look great.

How many points do you need to get a Ch.? Who's the better dog for the show ring, in your opinion? I'm fascinated by the dog show world. Will you ever breed either one?

15 pts., and two majors must be part of those 15 pts. A major is 3, 4, or 5 points. Points are based on how many dogs are defeated.

Saturday and Sunday, it would have been 2 pts. each day with 6 females entered which is the minimum number for 2 pts.. But one female didn't show up, so the points got knocked down to 1 pt. each day which was most disappointing. But who's to say that the female who didn't show up would have won the points over Tuffy. But I doubt it. :)

Both dogs are looking spectacular. Here's a picture of Joey - he stacked himself. I think it's a particularly nice photo. It was taken by Bill outside the ring just before he went into the ring.

This past weekend we had company. Joey & Tuffy's breeder came in from Kentucky to show them in the weekend shows and make a general evaluation of them. Of course, she thought they were perfect. :)

Tammy brought 2 puppies with her. My heart was in my throat wondering if The Little Darlings were going to eat them. But, alas, I had nothing to worry about. It's hard to believe that a year ago Joey & Tuffy were this age and size.

Bal, I know you and Bill have been dealing with a load of health stresses, but watching those four pups play must have been a real lift to your spirits. :D

Here is Tuffy's official show photo for her win this past Saturday. That's her breeder showing her. One would think the judge just showed up from a trip to Wal-Mart instead of judging at a dog show. Everything is so informal nowadays.

A recent pic of The Little Darlings. Not so "little" anymore. Joey is 100 lbs. and Tuffy is 81 lbs. We call them Moose and Mouse, but Mouse can sure kick the **** out of Moose.

Oh wow! I feel like it's been so long since I've ventured into the Joey & Tuffy thread and seen photos. They sure have grown up! You can tell they come from quality - they're wonderful.

They could eat my own little 5 lb darling in one bite, too.

It's been awhile since I posted anything about the kids aka The Little Darlings. So I thought I'd bring you up to date.

There was a Halloween costume party contest at our Ridgeback National Specialty Show in Topeka, Kansas. Joey was dressed as Big Red; Tuffy was Rachel Alexandra.

A testament to the good temperament of the dogs and the nuttiness of their owners. A video of the event. Enjoy!

Your dogs are so good looking. I thought their costumes were wonderful. I know some of those poor dogs must have been embarrassed by their costumes. They probably will turn into juvenile delinquents and we will be seeing them on those dog-shaming videos! But it was a good tape.
