'Stamping his get'

'Stamping his get'

Postby Starine » Tue May 29, 2018 8:15 pm

I saw a picture of New York-bred Midnight Disguise and was struck how much she reminded me of her sire, Midnight Lute. It seems he throws a lot of foals like himself: Leggy and near black.

What stallions, either alive or deceased, stand out to you as really having stamped their offspring?

I may have brought up Lonhro in that previous thread. ;)
If you get a chance to view photos of Lonhro and his son, Denman, you will think you're seeing twins. 8-)

I see Arch in many of his sons and daughters ESPECIALLY the ears. lol. It's a very distinct, offsided diamond shape. Hard to describe in words.

A lot of MDOs offspring have a certain look. I was looking at the picks of Zenyatta's MDO filly and saw very little of the dam in her.

Monsun offspring tend to have very flat square croups with a high tail set, almost like an Arabian. They look very "boxy" overall.

Sorry for the duplicate thread.

I totally see what you mean with Monsun and his progeny though. 8-)

For those of us who used to have a good memory but don't anymore, I appreciate it.

This is just one of many California Chrome foals who strongly resemble him. She is a filly out of Celtic Chant, who is a dk b/br mare by Songandaprayer (Unbridled's Song) x Currane by Gone West.
