First foal is a colt for California stallion Metaboss
Image
The first foal by Grade 3 winner Metaboss was born Monday at Daehling Ranch in Elk Grove, Calif., when the stakes-placed Amira J produced a colt.

Bred by Mersad Metanovic LLC, the chestnut colt is the first for Amira J, a 5-year-old Sky Mesa mare who won one of three starts during her on-track career and ran second in the listed Ontario Debutante Stakes at Woodbine as a juvenile. Notable runners in the pedigree include Grade 3 winner Proctor, Chilean Group 2-placed stakes winner El Facha, and stakes winners Over Your Shoulder and Al Rahib.

"I really love this colt," Metanovic said. "He has a little of everything, which is impossible to buy - great shoulder, started walking right away, good-minded, nice walk, and great personality. He minds his mama, is ready to run, very curious naturally, and has a great mind."

I've been following news of Chrome's foals here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1845162175769218/

It's way early in his stud career and looks don't make a racehorse, but Chrome has been getting some really good-looking foals so far. The Speightstown mare's name is Lady Chesley. Her filly was a bit on the small side at birth and the first photos posted of her showed a big bandage around her neck where she had received plasma. In these latest photos, it looks like she had a growth spurt in her hind end, lol.

"Chrome filly out of an Unbridled's Song mare doing very well" -- the mare's name is Scandalous Song and her filly is a knockout.

And this little guy below was Chrome's first foal out of Pay The Man by Bernstein (photo courtesy Calumet Farm). The colt is already doing the lip curl that Chrome did so often during his racing days:

Centre Court delivered a filly (MDO) 3 days early at 2:55 am this morning- just got the text. Very easy birth for her, Mama and baby are live on the Foal Patrol cams.
Its funny- because I was watching her last night thinking- she's going to burst!

Successfully foaled a NYB Honor Code filly this week. Momma and daughter healthy and doing well. Now scheduled to travel to KY in a couple weeks to go to Unified.

And in bigger news, our best mare to be covered by Tapit this weekend. Let's hope she catches on first cover to preserve some value in the mare.
