No foal for Frankel's dam again but another Galileo date in store
Juddmonte blue hen Kind is set to visit Galileo this year for a repeat of the mating that gave the world Frankel.

However, the 16-year-old daughter of Danehill has suffered problems with breeding in recent times and a Juddmonte spokesperson confirmed she is not in foal after being covered by Kingman last year.

Kind has now not delivered a foal since Proconsul in 2013.

She slipped a foal that was the result of another cover by Galileo that year and did the same in the following season. Covers by Kingman in 2015 and 2016 have also failed to bear fruit.

Maybe it's the bad news over the last couple of days, but now I'm worried for Kind.
I know she's worth her weight in diamonds and Juddmonte will be giving her the best of care, but....still. :(

I hesitated to post the story today because I had the same fleeting thought. Hoping for the best.

This mating was announced earlier in the thread, but I couldn't resist the picture.

Love the Frankel/Untapable picture. So cute.

I have never worked on a farm that allows the stallion any contact with the mare such as this. She is usually hobbled, twitched and tail wrapped. The stallion comes in and takes care of business, end of story. I think it's nice that they allow a bit of the more natural contact of stallion and mare before breeding. Looks like he is behind a teasing wall in the picture, understandably.

Maybe Frankel prefers to do his own 'teasing?' ;) :P

Bear’s Pearl will be bred to Bear’s Kid (Lemon Drop Kid)

An excuse to post a fun little story.

Why the fans just can’t get enough of this tiny mint-loving filly with the ‘puppy-dog’ eyes
While stakes winners get the accolades in racing, the lower-level runners are the ones keeping the sport alive on a daily basis. They can be just as beloved as their more famous counterparts, as is the case with the Woodbine Racecourse-based Bear’s Pearl.

The diminutive gray developed an international following thanks to a social media presence and the generosity of her connections, who endlessly shared her with tour groups and fans. Despite her gentle nature, Bear’s Pearl earned $404,605 the hard way, running almost exclusively in claiming races.

No-one loved her more than Joseph De Paulo, son of leading Woodbine trainer Mike De Paulo and his wife and assistant trainer, Josie.
