I remember him fondly. What a speedball he was, and exceedingly handsome as well.

Here's a wonderful video of his incredible career as a sprinter. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7FBayh5TJQ

I know he's not a stallion anymore but try telling him that! LOL New photos shot by Barbara Livingston of the great A.P. Indy.

Johannesburg(USA) got off to a flying start in Japan.
He is currently Japan's leading 2yos sire.
He stands at JBBA Shizunai.

* "Champion Leroidesanimaux, sire of Kentucky Derby winner Animal Kingdom, will relocate overseas to stand at Lanwades Stud in Newmarket, England beginning in 2014."
This is disappointing. He sired a Kentucky Derby and World Cup winner, but that didn't earn him enough support to avoid being exported? :(

* Regarding Shotiche, he was reportedly the last living son of Northern Dancer still standing at stud.

He's technically #7 on the general sire list here, but if you remove Animal Kingdom's earnings, he drops to around #200. I think that is sort of the problem. He's had some good runners but only one true standout, and it looks like people don't want to gamble too much on him. Maybe his pedigree will be in more demand over there. Looks like a lovely farm. Archipenko is there, and it's where Selkirk stood.

Re: Leroi relocating to England. They obviously recognize his ability as a turf sire and I'm sure he will be appreciated over there.

Leroidesanimaux was at stud somewhere in Florida, wasn't he? Maybe it's just me, but I fail to see how going from Ocala to Newmarket isn't an upgrade for him. It's not like he's going to Easter Island or anything. :) He'll get plenty of good mares where he's going (compared to the caliber he's been breeding to in Ocala).
Soylent green is....tasty!!!
