American Patriot, G1 Maker’s Mile Stakes winner and from the family of Symboli Kris S, has been retired from racing and will join the Darley stallion roster in Japan for 2018.

Having broken his maiden, American Patriot went on to take the G3 Kent Stakes in record time. His finest hour on the racecourse came almost exactly a year later, when he flew down the Keeneland straight to win the 1600m G1 Maker’s Mile Stakes, beating previous G1 winner What A View in the process.

American Patriot hails from a very active family, with his half-brother and sister both reaching the winners’ enclosure in 2017. His dam is herself a full-sister to G1 Dubai World Cup winner Well Armed and is from the immediate female family of multiple Champion and perennial leading Japanese sire, Symboli Kris S.

American Patriot becomes the first G1-winning son on the turf of successful American stallion War Front to stand in Japan.

That's wonderful news!
I guess that he is going to be a popular stallion in Japan.

Bobby Flay just bought his dam, Life Well Lived by Tiznow, for $1.25mil at the Keeneland Sale. Can't wait to see how he matches up with the mares in Japan.

Kobe’s Back Retired to Bonita Farm
The multiple graded stakes winner Kobe’s Back (Flatter–Well, by Well Decorated) has been retired to stand stud at Bonita Farm in Darlington, Maryland. The 6-year-old will command a fee of $3,000.

The $480,000 OBS March purchase won his first stakes in the Willard L. Proctor Memorial Stakes as a juvenile at Hollywood Park, defeating California Chrome (Lucky Pulpit) in the process. The half brother to GSW Well Spelled (Spellbinder) won his first graded stakes in his sophomore bow in the GII San Vicente S. He went on to capture three more graded events in his career: the GII Palos Verdes S. and GII San Carlos S. at Santa Anita, and the GIII Commonwealth S. at Keeneland.

Campaigned by C R K Stable and trainer Peter Eurton, Kobe’s Back retires with a record of 26-5-3-5 and earnings of $1,116,595.

Looks like Guys Reward is now at Swifty Farms for a $1000 K fee. They also stand Benny the Bull among some others that you may recognize.

BoM could have raced on!!! The horse ran 10 times this year and got better and better! He's clearly a sound and robust individual. Smart Strike got better with age, and this horse was likely to do so too.
I wonder who will leave the roster next???

Artie Schiller for one.

Got a reply from Swifty farms- he is doing very well, and they said he is a very nice horse to be around.

Looks like Darley is jumping on the War Front bandwagon - I think American Patriot will be more popular than The Factor, but hopefully both are well received.

Do you know what it means when it says "Struck off'? I've never heard that term.
Thanks!
