The WAR HORSE Chronicles

Ron Ellis was interviewed on TVG before the race and the gist was that Magic Mark was doing well and they expected a good effort. But obviously something went wrong with him during the race, maybe cardiac or pulmonary. I've seen this guy for years. RIP, warrior.
I ran marathons. I saw the Taj Mahal by Moonlight. I drove Highway 1 in a convertible. I petted Zenyatta.

I've found it easier to tear up tickets at 8/1 instead of 8/5.

Classic Wildcat finished 11th and last in his first race outside of King Leatherbury's barn. :(

I don't like that. Still scratching my head trying to figure out who in the hell claims a 12yo horse from an 85 year old trainer? Hope Classic Wildcat can get back on track, or better yet, retire him.

I have to think that horses notice when they suddenly aren't in their "home" stall or being cared for by the people they know and trust. Wouldn't surprise me that Classic Wildcat ran so poorly because he's really unsettled...and unhappy.
I hope he gets back to King and his 'home' stall soon.

A 12-year-old who's happy at what he's doing. Khan of Khans won his 30th race Saturday at Suffolk Downs!
