10yo g Prime Number (Maria's Mon) began his racing career under brighter lights with John Sadler at Santa Anita and Hollywood Park, and sadly, it ended today at
Presque Isle Downs in Race 2. "Prime Number was outrun, pulled up in the upper stretch and was put down".

Prime Number (Maria's Mon - Winter House, by Deputy Minister) 62 - 14-5-11, $195,221. RIP.

Bank of Dad finished 9th (last) today in his 128th start, at Thistledown. I think it's about time to call it a day. This guys stats tell you that he's done enough, and has
been nothing but a good hard trying blue collar boy for his entire career. You can't squeeze anything else out of him...

Agree, WarBiscuit- but the owner/trainer has been approached about selling him and she has refused. She intends to keep racing him, unless someone claims him first.

Pretty great quote from Leonard Powell after Soi Phet's Crystal Water Stakes win.

"The last race, when (Californian Stakes winner Dr. Dorr) passed him, he said, ‘You know what? I’m too old for this. I’ll save myself for another day’ and today was the day."

BECKY’S KITTEN came out of his last on 3/25/18 race well. He ran 6 times in 3 months in 2018 with record 1,2,2. Unfortunately, he was badly kicked by another horse abt 2 months ago as he walked by on way to therapy pool, & sustained L hind complicated splint bone fxs.....

More from Shelley:
Becky’s Kitten was examined, treated & put on 8 weeks of stall rest, which he did not tolerate well Re-evaluation revealed ongoing lameness & pain not well controlled with meds. Vet concluded his QOL & prognosis 4 healing well, esp given difficulty w/ stall rest, were poor...

CTA was set 2 take him, give him TLC & time needed. We were working on sanctuary home. However, this injury, coupled w/ racing wear & tear & secondary issues related to his difficulty with recovery & stall rest, was too much 4 this galant gelding 2 overcome We’re so sorry

So sorry to hear this sad news. Time and time again over the past few years he turned up on this thread for winning and hitting the board. A bit of a damper on this Belmont Stakes day for me. What a War Horse - 132 - 20-23-21, $478,668. Raced on all levels, from the biggest of stages to Camarero...

RIP Becky's Kitten.
