yesterday (3/25/17) at Turfway, was pulled up and vanned off. He was discussed in a Blood Horse article a few years ago. I have not heard anything further, but I'm hoping
that his 106th start was not one too many...

Watched the race replay- it doesn't look promising. He looked like he was dragging his left hind and couldn't bear weight on it. I want to cry. I've seen him race in person and always loved his name.

Race 106 was indeed one too many. RIP Shakeyogroovething. You deserved a retirement, poor old warhorse.

What a shame. That's really sad. I know the connections really cared for him, but at 12 years old and 106 starts - he had long since paid his dues. The argument will
come that he was racing well and was in good shape, but to me the difference between a 10yo on the track and a 12yo with 100+ starts is a big deal. Alot of wear and tear
on those old bones...

RIP Shakeyogroovething. (Dance Brightly - Hurrah Hurrah, by Rahy). 106 - 15-13-17, $357,106. MSP . Rest easy, rest well...

Oh so sad. Sometimes I really despise so much year-round racing. Too tempting to forgo those months long rest and recuperation periods.

Here's another one getting up there:

Tropical Heat finished 2nd beaten by 4 1/4 lengths, on March 27, 2017, at TURF PARADISE in Race 1.

Don't know if 25 starts (7 years old) counts as a "war horse", but here's where this guy is now:

Thanks tachyon! I was wondering if he would show up this season, and sure enough, he's back. He does look good at 15. What a War Horse. Hope he stays safe!
