Michigan Thoroughbred Racing

After the loss of Hazel Park and the blow to Michigan horsemen, it sounds like thoroughbred racing will return to Michigan in 2019 at the now abandoned
Sports Creek Raceway - a former harness track in the farthest NW region of the greater Detroit area. My early understanding is that it will feature Thoroughbreds,
Quarter Horses and possibly Standardbreds seasonally. As with any horse racing venture, they have their work cut out for them, but the new owners are experienced and committed to success that seemed to be lacking at Hazel Park. I wish them success more than anyone - I'm in dire need of a hometown track again!
