I know that Paul LoDuca doesn't work for TVG anymore, but I thought this was a fun read about him betting the Preakness.

I've found it easier to tear up tickets at 8/1 instead of 8/5.

He had the chance to say goodbye while on air and IIRC, being closer to family had something to do with it.

Nice to hear Vic Stauffer on the primary stage again.
And him coming with a $22.80 winner in the NoCalFair nitecap doesn't hurt any, thanks!

Today's TBC Blue Ribbon Award for picking winners goes to Simon Bray, who hit the early Pick Four at Santa Anita. I don't have the exact figures at hand, but it was something like a $36 ticket for a $1,400+ payout? 8-)

speaking of on-air handicappers....there's a contest at SantaAnita today, take a look at the leaderboard after 3 races.

While I've been enjoying TVG's coverage of Royal Ascot, it drives me a wee bit crazy that there is a complete disconnect between what Scot, Britney or Barry are talking about and the visuals being broadcast.
I don't know if they don't have any kind of monitors to watch what the TVG signal is showing (which seems like an avoidable lack), but it is really annoying to listen to them drone on and on...and not say anything about what is being shown on TV. Horses are walking around the parade ring, or galloping down the course on their way to the gate, but all I hear is Scot and/or Barry droning on and on about something else.
Why would TVG set up their crew with no way to provide some semblance of post parade information about the horses WHILE we're looking at those horses? Since the British track doesn't HAVE an orderly post parade, with names, pedigrees, post position, etc., it would have been useful to have TVG provide that.
