I'm absolutely tickled that Elizabeth is still riding at 92. That's impressive. What an inspiration for those of us who are no longer youngsters. :D
Looking at their mounts, I'm curious about the breed (which is not mentioned in the article). With the small size, sturdy build and feathered legs, I'd guess some type of Cob, maybe Welsh Cob or a matched set of black Gypsy Cobs?
That looks like her black Fell Pony. I saw an article a year or so ago that identified the breed, one I hadn't heard of before.

So, maybe we're not all that particular about where we post articles when there's not the perfect thread for them. Maybe the Fell Pony is an older horse, dunno.
The pony's name is Carltonlima Emma. Breyer did a run of the pony mare a few years ago.

I had a couple of other choices you might've preferred

Across The Pond
Jockey's & Trainers

Went for the olde nag angle instead. ;)
I've found it easier to tear up tickets at 8/1 instead of 8/5.

From DRF.....

$500,000 earner Point Piper, 2016 Longacres Mile winner, claimed for $10,000 by Wong, to be retired

Point Piper, a former stakes-class runner who has raced primarily in claiming races this year at age 8, was claimed for $10,000 on Monday by Jonathan Wong in a two-way shake and will be retired, Wong said on Twitter. Point Piper had been with Jerry Hollendorfer.

"The plan is for him to leave to the farm tomorrow to begin his retirement," Wong wrote.

Wong said Point Piper was claimed by the Willow Tree Farm of Butch and Lu Thomas. The farm is located in Burson, Calif, about 55 miles southeast of Sacramento.

Point Piper finished fourth in Monday's sixth race, his 42nd lifetime start. He won five times and finished second 10 times in his career. He did not win a race in 2017 nor 2018, totaling 14 starts.

The level at which he raced Thursday was the lowest of his career. He raced for $25,000 earlier this year. He earned more than $520,000.

Point Piper is by Giant's Causeway out of a Sadler's Wells mare. He is still an entire horse, and Wong said in a private message that the owners "are very excited to have the opportunity to stand him."

Leofric holds off Bravazo to win the Clark. Seeking the Soul was third.

Leofric is really starting to get good, but I would have loved for Bravazo to get his grade I. What a tryer he is.

Good luck to the new owners. PP's dam, Imagine, won the Oaks in 2001 and traces back to Marguerite. GC can arguably be considered a sire of sires. I've seen a lot of horses with much less attractive credentials head off to stud.

Battle of Midway won the Native Diver over Dabster today. He’s quite a tough guy, he had to run the whole way, but didn’t let up. I’m not sure if they have said where he will go next.

Breaking Lucky returned to the winner's circle yesterday at Gulfstream Park, his first since 2016. Shagaf also returned in the race, finishing last, and Imperative was third-to-last.

I had watched that race on Friday and forgot I wanted to ask about Shagaf. I forgot he existed probably because he hasn't raced hardly at all. He DNF in the 2016 Kentucky Derby and didn't race again for 11 months. Then he was off again for 19-20 months. Anyone know what happened? Is he that unsound or just unlucky? Sometimes they just get hit with something small and nagging and can't get back to the races. Just curious.

Well IIRC Shagaf wasn't injured, he was just pulled up in the Derby because he inhaled a boat ton of dirt. He ran once in 2017. Bloodhorse isn't showing any articles about him being injured.
