Does anyone know if Baffert intends to give West Coast a race before he heads to Dubai?

Has Baffert ever said for sure West Coast was going to Dubai?

Well....1/29 per Paulick.....

Following his solid runner-up performance in the Pegasus World Cup on Saturday, Gary and Mary West's West Coast may have earned a trip to the Dubai World Cup in March. Trainer Bob Baffert won't make any firm decisions until he sees how the 4-year-old son of Flatter comes back to training, according to drf.com.

“It looked like at the quarter pole he had a chance to swallow him up, but Gun Runner just kept on going,” the trainer said. “I haven't really planned anything out with Gary West yet. I want to get him home, wait a couple of weeks, let the horse tell us.”

I've found it easier to tear up tickets at 8/1 instead of 8/5.

Irish War Cry Returns in Hal's Hope Stakes
Had the final furlong of the final leg of the Triple Crown gone a couple lengths the other way, Graham Motion might not be entertaining his current train of thought.

Turning for home in the 1 1/2-mile Belmont Stakes presented by NYRA Bets (G1) last June, it was Motion's trainee Irish War Cry leading the procession into the stretch, a position the son of Curlin only yielded to Tapwrit just past the eighth pole. It was a stinging defeat, but one that validated to Motion his belief in the colt's depth of talent.

If the conditioner's present theory holds water, it is an outing that will go down as a prime example of the breadth of Irish War Cry's ability.

Isabelle de Tomaso's homebred multiple graded stakes winner will be cutting back to one turn for the first time since his 2-year-old season when he makes his 4-year-old debut in the one-mile $100,000 Hal's Hope Stakes (G3) at Gulfstream Park Feb. 24.

Well not having seen either work, I'm not sure if that's West Coast saying let's go after the big guns in Dubai or let's go after the tomato cans in the Big 'Cap. ;)

Economic Model won the Hal's Hope at Gulfstream, but Send It In went down approaching the final turn. Looked like a catastrophic breakdown. :(
