So is Solomini--4F at Santa Anita.
I ran marathons. I saw the Taj Mahal by Moonlight. I drove Highway 1 in a convertible. I petted Zenyatta.

Global Weekly Review: Draw a line through Enticed’s run
Godolphin trainer Kiaran McLaughlin suggests that Enticed’s well-beaten fourth in Saturday’s G2 Holy Bull Stakes at Gulfstream Park should be written off and the colt given another chance at his next run.

McLaughlin, who had earlier celebrated Avery Island’s comfortable win in the G3 Withers Stakes at Aqueduct, said there were negative factors associated with Enticed being trapped on the inside for a prolonged period around the first turn and turning into the back stretch.

“It was tight down on the inside,” the trainer explained. “Rain in the morning meant the track favoured those up on the speed.

“But Enticed, from gate 1, was taking dirt (in the face) for seven furlongs. Normally, you would be hoping for some spacing in the field, and a chance to get into the clear. But with the traffic on the inside that never happened,” he said.

Montauk is off the Derby trail, but the MdO colt will hopefully be back for the second half of the year.
KY Derby Future Wager: Wagering Suspended On Montauk After Colt Sidelined
Wagering on Montauk (#15), an 11 ¼-length debut winner at Belmont Park in October, has been suspended for the second of four pools of the 2018 Kentucky Derby Future Wager, which opens its three-day run on Friday at noon (all times Eastern).
Montauk, a 3-year-old son of Medaglia d'Oro trained by Todd Pletcher and owned by Robert V. LaPenta, Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners, Twin Creeks Racing Stables LLC and Bridlewood Farm, had recently recorded two published workouts at Palm Beach Downs, including a half-mile breeze in :51 on Saturday. The connections met Friday morning and a decision was made to address a minor throat issue that would prevent Montauk from a chance to make the May 5 Kentucky Derby Presented by Woodford Reserve (Grade I).
“The ownership group and Todd huddled up this morning and we decided that we are going to address a minor throat issue that will take him out of training for a few weeks,” said co-owner Aron Wellman, president and founder of Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners. “We were already on a tight enough schedule as it was and this will make him miss just enough time to not be ready for the Derby. However, by doing what's best for the horse, we do hope to have a very serious animal on our hands for the second half of the year.”

I've found it easier to tear up tickets at 8/1 instead of 8/5.

Flameaway, the winner of the Sam Davis, wasn't nominated to the Triple Crown races. No surprise, that's going to change. :P ;)
In order for the 10 points he earned with the Davis victory to officially be assigned to him, Flameaway's owner John Oxley will have to pay a $6,000 late nomination fee by March 19.
“We'll definitely do that,” said trainer Mark Casse. “It was an oversight. The colt came out of it in great shape. We'll keep our options open.”

Risen Star: Pletcher Trainee Noble Indy Shows ‘A Tremendous Amount Of Talent’
https://www.paulickreport.com/news/trip ... nt-talent/

This is a colt by Take Charge Indy, currently the #1 second crop sire. I wonder if there's a return clause in that sale to Korean interests.

A Take Charge Indy filly also won a stakes race this past weekend. (Just can't remember where...Oaklawn?)
I've seen remarks that his offspring weren't impressing buyers, but IMHO his former owners gave up on him WAY too soon. :(

There isn't a 'return clause' per se, KRA won't give him back if Winstar wants him. However, there is an, "option for WinStar to buy him back in the future".

Walden described the sale amount as 'too good to turn down', and if he is a hit, they'd have to offer the KRA more than that. Not sure why the KRA would want to sell him back, either way. I kind of hope that they don't want to sell him back, because I agree that WinStar gave up on him too soon, and there's a chance that the KRA could have a top stallion on their hands.

If his offspring are this good in the US, he could very well turn out to be the KRA's Northern Taste.

On another note going back and reading the comment section on this article is hilarious, given the present-day situation.

Exactly. And don't get me started on comments (any comments, Bloodhorse, Facebook, etc.) when a horse is exported anywhere that isn't Narnia.
