A very impressive win by Analyze It (Point of Entry) in the 1 1/16-mile G3 Transylvania at Keeneland. This is a serious colt with a promising future on the grass. It's also nice to see Dynaformer's son, Point of Entry, doing well as a sire.

That was truly scary. He's in a different league than his supposed competition. Tough ( if not impossible ) to compare dirt and turf horses, but he might be the most talented 3YO in the country.

Just watched the replay and wow! He won for fun... impressive to find that kind of closing kick on a yielding course too :)

Nice bounce back for Ax Man; blinkers came off and he relaxed a couple of lengths off the pace before taking over at the quarter pole.
I ran marathons. I saw the Taj Mahal by Moonlight. I drove Highway 1 in a convertible. I petted Zenyatta.

Could Ax Man be a potential Preakness runner, or does he look like a horse who will want to stay at 7-8 furlong distances?

He looked very comfortable at 8 furlongs and I was also thinking he looks like a Preakness type. But it's hard to tell right here whether he wants to go farther.

Mike Watchmaker reviewed the three-year-old races from the weekend, but I thought this comment on Analyze it was noteworthy:
I know it happened on Friday, but Analyze It’s sensational victory in the Transylvania at Keeneland merits a word. This was Analyze It’s third runaway victory from as many starts, and he is the most exciting 3-year-old turf prospect we’ve had in years. I’d love to see him target a European classic – that’s how good I think he is.

ARCADIA, Calif. - The two-time stakes winner Greyvitos will have his 2018 debut in Saturday’s Grade 3 Lexington Stakes at Keeneland, trainer Adam Kitchingman said Sunday.

Last week, Kitchingman considered starting Greyvitos in the Grade 1 Arkansas Derby at 1 1/8 miles at Oaklawn Park on Saturday, but has opted for the $200,000 Lexington Stakes, which is run at 1 1/16 miles.

“I’ll go in the softer spot and the shorter distance,” he said. “It’s been weighing on my mind pretty heavy in the last few days.”

The decision could keep Greyvitos from gaining sufficient qualifying points to earn a berth in the Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs on May 5.

Through Sunday, Greyvitos had 10 qualifying points and was tied for 32nd in the rankings. The winner of the Lexington Stakes will receive 20 qualifying points. Even if Greyvitos wins the Lexington Stakes and has 30 points, the colt would not be certain of a berth in a race with a safety limit of 20 starters.

“The Preakness will be our back-up plan,” Kitchingham said.
I've found it easier to tear up tickets at 8/1 instead of 8/5.

Heh, well then I guess I was wrong when I said in whichever thread that I didn't think Greyvitos was still pointing.
Preakness would be my choice even if he wins the Lexington.

He's by Lonhro, which would usually make me think he should stay on grass, but he is out of a Lookin At Lucky mare. He's a good-looking colt who reminds me a bit more of his damsire than his sire, and he's shown talent and determination.
I give him a shot, but he's not in my Mythical Mental Top Ten. :P ;)

from DRF....

Trainer Jonathan Thomas, who sent out the highly regarded Catholic Boy to finish fourth behind Audible in the Florida Derby, will be in the spotlight at Tampa Bay Downs on Sunday when he saddles Arrogate’s younger half-sister, Osare, in the third race, a maiden special weight event carded at 1 1/16 miles on the turf.

Runaway Ghost will miss the Kentucky Derby due to a shin injury. His trainer believes he has a hairline fracture but should heal and comeback.

Wooton wins Prix de Fontainebleau to stay perfect

Wooton, now unbeaten after three starts, beat Olmedo by a head Sunday at Longchamp in the Group 3 Prix de Fontainebleau, a battle between perhaps the two best 3-year-old milers in France.
