Xpress Bet doesn't seem to have the track listed, where can I watch? I know the card starts soon at Sha Tin if it hasn't already.

Highland Reel looks really good, but this is a good field he's up against in the Vase. I hope he goes out on a win.
I see Kiseki is in, so whatever health issues he had, he's been cleared to run.

WHAT a WARRIOR!!
Highland Reel hit the front coming into the stretch, but he was stalked by Talismanic. As they neared the wire, it looked like Talismanic was going to sweep past. But 'Reel turned his head a little toward his rival...and hit another gear. Opened up to win clear.
SOOOOO happy for this brave, classy horse. Best son of Galileo IMO.

That was a great stretch run & finish, what a contest between Highland Reel & Talismanic!

Tosen Basil up for third... Kiseki (who tested negative for ringworm after all) started slowly, spent much of the race at the tail of the pack & couldn't sustain a run at the end.

Lovely work by the top two and Tosen Basil acquitted himself very well.

Very classy act of kindness by the HKJC, who will reportedly be sending Stormy Liberal's groom, Jose (no last name given), back to the US with full luggage to help begin replace what was lost in the San Luis Rey fire - his living quarters, like so many others, burned to the ground.

For the Mile, I'm pulling for Satono Aladdin (who is off to stud afterward, I think I read)...

For the Cup, I hope Staphanos can finally get his G1 win but Neorealism looks good and I never count out Yutaka Take even though I think Smart Layer is a bit over her head.

I really want Lancaster Bomber to run well but I am with you on Satono Aladdin - still not on for the CUP

Wow Satono Aladdin looks gorrrrrrrrrrrrrrgeous in the paddock. WOW.

ETA: And his handler wins for the Best Turned Out Award. Well deserved!

Not too surprisingly, his groom got the "Best Turned-Out"Award. :D
Looks like the two O'Brien runners are stuck on the outside. Lancaster' has more tactical speed, IIRC, but I look for Roly Poly to coming running in the stretch.

Given all the "Beauty" names, I'm thinking it's a specific stable, like the Satonos etc?

I like the move Satono Aladdin made, I just think they waited too long to pick up the pace. All credit to the winner though, it was a gutsy finish.

War Decree has a lovely walk.

ETA: I like the French horse, Garlingari, along with Staphanos.

Impressive wire-to-wire run by Time Warp... though I have to wonder how it might have been different if Neorealism hadn't been so rank in the first part and trapped behind the leader until the top of the stretch.

All credit to the winner, well done.

Interesting note re the Mile:
Bobby‏ @BobbyTheMonster 19h 19 hours ago

SATONO ALADDIN immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.
It would explain a lot... and then for the best he's going off to stallion duty.

Hmmm, Kiseki too...
Kate Hunter‏ @KeibaKate Dec 11

According to vet checks Kiseki had an abnormality in a right foreleg X-ray and Satono Aladdin bled. Terrible to hear but nice to know they have excuses for their unusually bad performances at the #HKIR

I've found it easier to tear up tickets at 8/1 instead of 8/5.
