Course Description

The Queen Elizabeth II Cup is run over 2200m on turf on a right-handed track. The race starts from the homestretch, traveling flat for 1020m to the third turn. The third turn, which is the remaining 800m to the finish, is the highest point of the track. From the backstretch to the third turn, horses travel uphill for 3.6m (0.9%) for 400m, and there is steep downhill of 3.2m (2.28%) for 140m leading to the fourth turn to the homestretch. The 403m homestretch is flat throughout.

Hmmmm... after looking at the photo paddock, Lys Gracieux seems a bit light to me. I would go w Dierdre but she just had that big run in the Shuka Sho, wonder if it took a little bit out of her.

So I'm going to switch to Vivlos, she looks very well. 8-)

The 4-time GSW (beating the boys every time) will have to retire from racing next Spring at the latest.
So this race is probably her last chance to be a G1 winner.
I hope that she will overcome her poor draw today!

Oh wow, no disrespect to the winner (she had a great last run & I'd seen speculation that she was improving and would have a big day) but oh how I wish Mikki Queen had gotten that last step, she was soooo close at the end!!! Just a nose. 8-)
