I can't find a topic for him so am creating one. He's my pick in the BCC. Can't go with Arrogate. He didn't do well at Del Mar his last 2 races. I'll be paying close attention to West Coast. Florent can't let him get too much of a lead.

Maybe (???) you'll enjoy some photos of Gunner. His groom let us have an audience with him. He even took 2 of he photos. He (Gunner) is quite the ham.

Nice. Looks like he took a liking to Bills shirt - and was told in no uncertain terms to behave.

I like him in the BCC, as well.

We couldn't stop laughing. When Bill waved his finger at him, he had this look "Wassamatter - can't take a joke?" I just love him.

It was fun, and we were very fortunate to have gotten this opportunity. A couple dozen Dunkin Donuts early in the morning has its perks.

He's a nice consistent horse, always shows up and he's definitely got a good chance in the BCC.

My favorite photo you did not post, Ballerina. You with the coffee pot following Asmussen and Gun Runner from the barn to the Oklahoma track for the work.

BCC - Gun Runner looks to be doing awesome right now.

Oh - you mean this one. That's not a coffee pot - it's a coffee cup. LOL!

Nice to see you looking so well, Bal. He does look like a character. How fun! I'll have to remember that about bringing donuts to the backside in the morning, lol.

That shot with all four feet off the ground is very cool. And it's nice to see him with his ears forward. He's much more attractive when he's not looking so cranky.

I stand corrected. Sorry, GR. ;)
I'm glad you got to spend time with him, Bal.

My favorite Gun Runner moment - I was able to attend The Whitney Stakes this year and was seated not far from Asmussen and his boys in the clubhouse. That whole section just erupted with applause and cheers when Gun Runner won it. Anyone who could was slapping Steve A. on the back and congratulating him. It was neat to see.

The coffee mug picture is funny! Do you ever grab breakfast from the truck that circles the backstretch at Oklahoma? Maybe it's not there any more, but they had The Best bacon sandwiches!
Thanks for sharing the rest of the pics. Love Gun Runner.

Love those pictures, thanks for sharing them. The one where he has Bill's shirt and the one afterwards where he is told to behave are awesome. The look on his (Gun Runners) face  He seems like quite a funny character to be around.

Also - I have to say this: it's great to see you and Bill being so well and having a blast. I'm very happy for you both! :D

I can't say we had the best summer in Saratoga this year. We didn't have the AC on once, but the furnace sure gobbled up a lot of propane - just a lot damp, chilly, rainy days and SOL luck betting. There was, however, some decent weather some race days. BUT, the trip was all worth it getting up close to Gun Runner. What a thrill. He's very special. And Old Bones recalling the crowd cheering for Steve when Gunner won the Whitney, the entire occupants of the Club House and Grandstand were on their feet when he crossed the finish line and walked back to the barn after the Woodward.
