If race 7, the Lure, stays on the turf I love Macagone at a price... 1,6,7,12 ex box and Mac for the win if that one stays on.

Thpought it was raining there... web cam showed rain as did the weather report. Might rethink Macagone if the turf is firm.

they had a 10 minute monsoon, some say the water truck delivers more moisture.
I've found it easier to tear up tickets at 8/1 instead of 8/5.

Alright, fair enough, rethinking the Lure, but I'm betting 4,7/1,4,5,7 in the Waya. Think Summersault might be able to upset.

Mohaymen was last in the Alydar: this is getting sad watching him race so poorly. they need to retire him or find another career. poor boy.

Mohaymen wasn't just last; he was eased up on and trotted past the wire far, far behind the rest of the field. :(
I agree that they need to retire the little grey. He hasn't shown anything at four, and it's fair to say that it's been well over a year since he's had a decent race. It looks like he just gives up now in his races. Maybe that trouncing by Nyquist in last year's Florida Derby broke his willingness to fight for a win.
With his pedigree and early success, I suppose Shadwell could find a place for him to stand, but...man, there are a lot of Tapits out there now, and many with better records.
On a more positive note, the winner of the Alydar, Rally Cry (Uncle Mo) was pretty impressive. Pletcher may aim for the Woodward with the handsome colt.

yeah I hated to see Mohaymen finishing last today too - handsome little guy - but I don't think he wants to play anymore.

West Virginia Derby went off Saturday and not a TV to be found showing it at Saratoga. One TV even had Suffolk. I'm thinking we will stay home Arlington Million weekend. Why spend all the money for travel, hotels, meals, when you have the excellent NYRA Now app and can watch other big races on a big screen?

I was surprised that TVG didn't show the race. IIRC, the channel has covered it in years past.
Since I don't get TVG2, I don't know if the race was shown on Betfair's stepchild channel.

Mohaymen Scheduled For Return To Kentucky After Colt Was Eased In Alydar
Trainer Kiaran McLaughlin reported Monday that Mohaymen will travel to Shadwell Farm in Kentucky in the upcoming days as his owner, Shadwell Stable, decides his future.

The 4-year-old son of Tapit returned to the dirt in Sunday's $100,000 Alydar at Saratoga, where he finished last in the five-horse field after being eased to the wire in the stretch. McLaughlin said Mohaymen came out of the race healthy, but will leave Saratoga later this week.

One start prior to Alydar, he was sent to the turf in a one-mile optional claiming race on July 14 at Belmont Park where he finished sixth.

“We tried one more time, with blinkers on and on the dirt, and it didn't go well,” said McLaughlin. “We'll send him back home in the upcoming week and see what happens from there.”

Elate wins the Alabama easily over It Tiz Well (who held on despite setting a pretty decent pace) and Salty.

Unchained Melody was unsaddled and given a ride back to her barn by the horse ambulance to be checked out. Her rider said that it wasn't that she went 'wrong,' but that she was just so lethargic.
I suspect that both Holy Helena and New Money Honey will be headed back to their preferred surfaces.

? She broke her maiden on dirt and placed in her debut, also on dirt.
Surface isn't the issue I'm guessing.
Still, it's a shame they didn't run her through the Canadian TC.

It looked hot there today. And humid. I can't blame these horses if they were effected.

Brian Lynch, trainer of Unchained Melody texts, the filly "appears to be fine, definitely no soundness issues."

It was a beautiful day - not hot and not humid. We sat in the sun watching the big screen during the Alabama and were quite comfortable.
