Good for Irap. He's definitely a bit of a late bloomer but the Indiana Derby also marked his first time putting in back-to-back winning efforts. Colts like him --and West Coast-- are exciting to me because it appears their best days as racehorses are ahead of them; a lot of these colts who were prominent on the Derby trail earlier this year seemed to have plateaued.

I thought Irap was one of those horses who needs a perfect setup, but he was quite good in his past two races and he had a very uncomfortable trip in the Ohio Derby. Doubt he'll ever be a world-beater, but it's always nice to see Derby horses move forward post-TC.
