What an interesting spot for Brockton George to return in.

I think Irap is vulnerable in this one - he will not get away easily - hmmm who beats him?
May they run with the WIND

Both Irap and West Coast (who won the Los Al Derby) were impressive today, even if their Derbies weren't exactly full of Kentucky Derby-level competition.
IIRC, the TVG guys said that West Coast might be headed back east for the Travers. Did anyone hear where Irap may be running next?

Irap Dominant in Indiana Derby

If his victory in the Toyota Blue Grass (G2) was a fluke and his nose win in the Ohio Derby (G3) was just enough, Irap's conquest of the $500,000 Indiana Derby (G3) was the best evidence to date that Reddam Racing's Tiznow colt is the real deal.

After the race owner Paul Reddam indicated another high-profile, high-purse 3-year-old race is in Irap's future.

"Hopefully it begins with a 'T.'" Reddam said, making a not-so-subtle reference to the Aug. 26 Travers Stakes (G1) at Saratoga Race Course. "We'll take our shot at the big boys again."
I've found it easier to tear up tickets at 8/1 instead of 8/5.

Like his sire Tiznow, Irap may be the sort of maturing, improving three-year-old whose second half of the year will be better than the first half. And maybe he'll be even better as a four-year-old.

Not surprising... these Midwest tracks are my Achilles heel.
