Thunder Snow return to action likely next month
Saeed bin Suroor revealed that Thunder Snow, the impressive winner of the G1 Dubai World Cup Sponsored by Emirates Airline at Meydan, UAE, at the end of March, could make his European return in the Prix Jacques le Marois (G1, 1m, turf, 12 August) at Deauville.

The trainer said: “We are planning to take Thunder Snow to the G1 Jockey Club Gold Cup (G1, 10f, dirt, 29 September) at Belmont Park, New York, at the end of September, but want to give him a race in Europe first. That could be the Prix Jacques le Marois.

“Thunder Snow is fine – he just needed a break. The ultimate target this year is the Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1, 10f, dirt, November 3, Churchill Downs).”

Easy win (4 1/2 lengths) for Alpha Centauri today in the Falmouth S (G1). Third G1 win in a row.

I can't wait to see her in the BC Mile. IMO, she's so good that she could go on a Goldikova-style win streak in The Mile, if she were to stay in training that long.

Alpha Centauri is a very nice filly. Interesting to read that the trainer was so nervous in the days leading up to the race.

U.S. Navy Flag takes the July Cup (G1). Looks like the cut back in distance was just what he needed. 1 - 3 finish for AOB and War Front.

Masar has been taking out of training for the year but they hope to run him as a 4yo.

He is going to get a break and his connections are eyeing the Everest in Australia in October.

Sea of Class (Sea The Stars) nails Forever Together at the wire to take the Irish Oaks (G1) under a perfectly-timed ride by James Doyle. AOB has been surprisingly shut out in the first four Irish classics this year.

Hey all, I'm a new addition to the forum so forgive any dodgy posts from me!

Tomorrow the best racing meet in the UK starts (in my opinion)- the Ebor Festival at York. I've been a couple of times and can't remember a more welcoming crowd than the Yorkshire lot. Doesn't hurt that my first trip was to see Frankel romp in the Juddmonte...

Wednesday is the first day and is always a cracker. The racecard is below but in summary there is the Acomb Stakes (7 furlong Group 3 for 2yo), the top St Leger Trial in the Group 2 Great Voltigeur ( 12 furlongs) , and the Group 1 Juddmonte International over 10.5 furlongs. Always a stellar race. This year sees a good mix of older and younger horses. I hope that Without Parole can give a good account of himself in the spirit of his sire.

Ground is good to firm and it should stay dry during racing.

Welcome, KS. The field for the Juddmonte International is indeed outstanding: Dubai World Cup hero Thunder Snow, German group I winner Benbatl, Prince of Wales and King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes victor Poet's Word, Irish Derby winner Latrobe and St. James Palace Stakes winner Without Parole.
