I worked every day this past week. I need to play this game.

And to listen to Randy Moss.

Concern for how horses respond to loud noises doesn't seem to be important to the Pimlico powers-that-be.
TVG was on-air when that huge 'stealth' bomber buzzed the track. The intense noise level from the plane overloaded their mics...and the paddock was full of fillies waiting to be saddled for the next race.
From what Caton said, some horses froze in terror, while a couple 'acted up.' The only entrant who ignored the bombing run turned out to have her ears stuffed with cotton. Lucky girl. :P

"...it will be interesting to see how the horses being saddled outside respond to the rowdiness of the infield crowd..."

I believe the two Asmussen horses, Hence and Lookin At Lee, are being saddled within the inside saddling paddock, and away from the infield. Steve's been here before and apparently doesn't want to play that 'how badly will my horses respond to thousands of screaming drunks?' game.

Could you make more Italian guys than these two.

No.

Always Dreaming is being saddled indoors too, I believe. I love the tradition, but it's probably the right choice for the horses.

I thought I heard Pletcher say that AD will be saddled inside as well.

Having grownup outside of NYC I'll be rooting for AD

It sure looks like a lot of the NBC and TVG crews/analysts are in Classic Empire's corner for this race. It should be interesting as CE should get a very good trip this time. Of course if he does win, then most of the talk will likely amp-up even more about "what if" in regard to his Derby trip.

My momma grew up not far from them. My whole family comes from Brooklyn. Half still live there. So Probably insane! That's why I hope.

It's been fourteen years since Funny Cide and most of my memories are of hypothermia, so I could really go for an NY Belmont this year!

Honestly a little surprised by the lack of respect he's getting at the windows.

Why are they hyping up CI so much more than the Derby winner? Is one of them more marketable? AD was seriously impressive in the Derby, if he runs back to that performance he'll win over a perfect trip from CI.

I think they want to hype up the rivalry to make it a more marketable race, but they are going way overboard. It's already a great matchup. I think the only person who has mentioned the Derby pace all day is Tom Durkin, like three hours ago, and it's frustrating to see very little acknowledgement of how good Always Dreaming was two weeks ago.

my only pre-race analysis is that Channing Hill is the cutest jockey this side of Gary Stevens

Also someone needs to tell Pletcher and Asmussen that they need to dye their mustaches white as well

After learning that Pletcher grew the goatee because someone at an airport mistook him for Baffert, I'm in favor of it.

Classic Empire looks like he's grown a bit.
