Gorgeous Ginny ($4.20) won Thursday's second race for California-bred 2-year-old fillies, the first race of the year for juveniles in Southern California.
Ridden by Jamie Theriot, Gorgeous Ginny pulled clear in the final quarter-mile to finish 5 1-4 lengths in front of 8-1 Ismelucky. Gorgeous Ginny ran 4 1-2 furlongs in 52 seconds.
Gorgeous Ginny is by Take Charge Indy, his first winner with his second starter.
The filly is owned by Randy Howg and is trained by Robertino Diodoro. Gorgeous Ginny is out of Brooke's Halo, the winner of the Grade 2 Hollywood Oaks in 2005.
