Bowie's Hero (Artie Schiller) won the Oceanside Stakes at Del Mar pretty impressively.

The Oceanside is for three year olds.

But you knew that. :)

 oops.
This is even worse than when I put some info about Mohaymen in the Three-Year-Old thread.
I really need a 'face-palm' emoji.

Haha, you misspelled Mohaymen!!! Fifty lashes with a wet noodle for you!

I'm headed there Saturday. Hope the big grey doesn't disappoint.

Did NOT like the way LC was beating up on the 2-year old filly down the stretch when she was drawing clear. Absolutely not necessary. He even got her to wring her tail, many lengths out in front. . . . good way to sour a horse.

I'm generally one that roles my eyes when people talk about the whipping thing, but I agree. It looked bad.

I've been following the Animal Kingdom colt, Untamed Domain, just because he's such a hunk. Nice to see him break his maiden today for Graham Motion going a mile and a sixteenth.

And then I also took note of the Lukas-trained Sporting Chance breaking his maiden today as well (also at the Spa). This was going five and a half but he's by Tiznow out of a grade I-placed Candy Ride mare.

Here's one to watch:

Larry Jones homebred by Kodiak Kowboy out of Just Jan, whose claim to fame was she was the workmate of Grace.

Named Kowboy Karma, he debuted Wed at Del Park. Watch the replay at BH. He ran like daddy, a closing sprinter, and just blew by the field to win by 12 or so. He got an 85 Beyer and even more impressive, a 7 rag. He's a gelding and by a very sound side, so I hope he turns out to be a really good one who races for years.

I was wondering what kind of Beyer he'd get. I was watching on Wednesday and must admit his middle move was visually very impressive. Not sure what he was beating, but I'm intrigued. Hopefully he shows up at Saratoga next month.

DEL MAR, Calif. – Gracida, who was a debut winner Saturday, will be pointed to the Grade 1, $300,000 Del Mar Futurity for 2-year-olds on the meet’s closing day, Sept. 4, trainer Doug O’Neill said.
I've found it easier to tear up tickets at 8/1 instead of 8/5.

Tatters To Riches, who last sold for about a $million, just won the 1st at Del Mar, a 6-furlong MSW with some other nicely-bred colts. The Jeff Mullins-trained Union Rags colt may be worth that price.

Lovely, lovely pedigree on him. Should run all day.
