Interesting case of jockey musical chairs here, Mikey took off both of the favorites in here in order to ride in HotSpringsArkansas, and he made that commitment before Mastery took the misstep, hmmmm!

Winners share of $400,000 without having to deal with the airport vs. another 3YO for Baffert, hmmm indeed.
I've found it easier to tear up tickets at 8/1 instead of 8/5.

Since Vale Dori is also a Baffert horse, I presume he made the call about which horse he preferred Mike would ride. And maybe Smith had the commitment on American Anthem before he knew that Finest City, a sprinter, was going to tackle this longer race?

Vale Dori is the real deal. Wins the race by about two over sprint champ Finest City, who actually did well over the longer distance. Those two were many lengths in front of the rest of the field.
Wonder if Mike Smith is having mount-choice remorse after American Anthem laid that egg in the Rebel? :P

Mike is going to set a record this year that is UN-BE-LIEVE-ABLE
Avg. Earnings Per Start: $168,645 so far with Dubai just around the corner, oh my!

Remorse isn't part of his vocabulary!
