Pletcher - lack of 3YO depth this year?

Pletcher - lack of 3YO depth this year?

Maybe we're just too early in the season, but Todd's stable seems a little light on talent in the 3YO pool this year.

Off the top of my head he's got... Battalion Runner, Sonic Mule, Fact Finding, Third Day... ?

He's also got a horse named Faja that won its debut at the end of the year impressively.

Just curious, when was the last time Pletcher had depth in his 3YO's?

Triple Crown Highlights
1st Belmont S. - 2013 - Palace Malice
1st Kentucky Derby - 2010 - Super Saver
1st Belmont S. - 2007 - Rags to Riches
2nd Belmont S. - 2016 - Destin
2nd Belmont S. - 2014 - Commissioner
2nd Belmont S. - 2011 - Stay Thirsty
2nd Belmont S. - 2009 - Dunkirk
2nd Belmont S. - 2006 - Bluegrass Cat
2nd Kentucky Derby - 2006 - Bluegrass Cat
2nd Kentucky Derby - 2001 - Invisible Ink
3rd Kentucky Derby - 2014 - Danza
3rd Kentucky Derby - 2013 - Revolutionary
3rd Belmont S. - 2008 - Ready's Echo
3rd Belmont S. - 2006 - Sunriver
3rd Preakness S. - 2000 - Impeachment
3rd Kentucky Derby - 2000 - Impeachment
I've found it easier to tear up tickets at 8/1 instead of 8/5.

He romped. He may not have the most elegant build, but he sure can run.

Tapwrit is the 3yr old that will give Pletcher a serious shot at the Derby. The others are solid but this one looks like a potential Derby winner if he peaks in May.

When ya cost $1.2million peaking in May is a great idea!
What about that other Pletcher that was runner-up in the December Pulpit Stakes, Market Plan with JV up, he only cost $850K.

Two questions:
1. The Pulpit stakes was taken off the turf, did Pletcher really want to run 'em both on the sod or did he know it'd be raining?
2. The Ocala race for Market Plan in January, what's that all about, doesn't seem like the path to the triple crown?
thanks.

Eh, it's still early. Plenty of time for a horse to win his debut by 15 lengths at Gulfstream en route to a so-so Wood Memorial win followed by a 14th place finish in the Derby at 6-1.
