I've found it easier to tear up tickets at 8/1 instead of 8/5.

Easy win but an eventful trip at 1/9.
Starting with an odd break where she was off slow, Mike$ says she was rockin and off balance in there.
Then to the naked eye (TVG hosts) she looked rank and climbing down the backstretch wanting to run, but Mike$ said she actually settled really well and waited for his signal.

Mike$ wrapped it up by saying it was a better race for her educationally than if she were to break on top by two and run around the track like a lonely workout.

BC will be tough off just one prep with no significant competition, but she's a classy one for sure!

She was rank. Watch the race again if you missed it. Throwing head, hits the bit, running head up and hollow, but she does settle. M$ just left out the first part. . . .

Well, she had been off for seven months and her workouts indicated she was a powder keg ready to blow. I'm not surprised that she was beyond eager to run, run, RUN. I would have been a little worried if she settled like it was just a walk around the barn. :P
Now that she's been able to burn off some of that pent-up energy, IMHO she'll be perfect for the F&M Sprint.

Gate work a good idea.

when watching, don't expect too much nearing the wire, the work was from the gate to the 1/4 pole, (some of the commenters were concerned)

Unique Bella’s 109 Beyer in Santa Maria romp Sat, mile sixteenth in 1:43.45, is highest fig by California filly-mare since Beholder’s 114 in 2015 Pacific Classic.

.@DRFAndersen reports Unique Bella may miss next weekend's Santa Margarita. For more on the story, read below.
ARCADIA, Calif. – A recent bout with a cough may prevent the champion Unique Bella from starting in the Grade 1 Santa Margarita Stakes for fillies and mares at Santa Anita on March 17.

Trainer Jerry Hollendorfer said Friday that Unique Bella has resumed training, but was unsure about immediate race plans for the sensational 4-year-old filly.

“She had a little bit of a cough and we haven’t ruled the race out yet,” Hollendorfer said.

“We have been very conservative. We’re taking things day by day.”

Unique Bella was galloped on Friday morning, Hollendorfer said. She has not had a workout since Feb. 25, when she ran five furlongs in 58.60 seconds.

Dang...just about everyone I know has had to deal with a cough this winter and it looks like 'Bella did not escape the horse version of the hacking scourge. :(

Don Alberto racing manager Fernando Diaz-Valdes says Unique Bella is now pointing to the April 13 Apple Blossom at Oaklawn Park. She came up with a cough recently, had to go through some antibiotics, and missed training because of weather, so will miss the Santa Margarita.

Couple of things make it almost unbelievable......

The rare Breezing rather than Handily awarded by the west coast clocker.

The bullet was earned against no less than 107 horses trying the track at that distance.

There were no 58's. There were no 59's.
The second fastest clocking of the morning went to Kathy's Song stopping the clock in a minute flat.

Just maybe the best work ever!?!?!?

Interesting that the Justify thread is talking about how slow SA has been all year, and she keeps on rocket-shipping around in her works.

A little more perspective on Unique Bella's 46.80 work this morning: it was the fastest of 63 at the distance, faster by more than one second compared to the next-best time at 4f, and was the only work of 164 here this morning that the clockers designated as "breezing."
