Overture powers to Indiana Oaks upset

WinStar Farm’s Overture was sent off at 12-1 in Saturday’s $200,000 Indiana Oaks (G3), but the Bill Mott trainee ran like a favorite when flying home along the rail to triumph by a length under jockey Julien Leparoux.

It was a nice present for the rider, who celebrated his 34th birthday on Saturday with his mom, Nicole Leparoux, in town from his native France.

Has there been any statement as to what race Abel Tasman is pointed to next?

Baffert is aiming for the Alabama he said almost for sure but hasn't stated if/what race he'd use to get there. Would be neat if she went for the Coaching Club imho.

Coaching Club is coming up pretty quick. I see she is nominated. Well, she sure looks ready!

Didn't she last race in May, or am I totally fuddled?
I ran marathons. I saw the Taj Mahal by Moonlight. I drove Highway 1 in a convertible. I petted Zenyatta.

Pretty N Cool was pulled up just now in grass workout, shortly after breaking off. Favored left hind. Van ride to barn. (1/2)

(2/2) "Not life threatening. Stifle or tibia," Baffert informs on Pretty N Cool. Encouraging that she put some weight on leg loading on van

Jay Privman‏ @DRFPrivman
Good news on Pretty N Cool: per Baffert, x-rays clean, appears her stifle locked. #delmar

Good thing @DraydenV exercised caution pulling up Sircat Sally. Turns out she has a fractured sesamoid. (1/2)

(2/2) Whether Sircat Sally needs surgery is TBD. But considering she's a multiple graded winner, have to think this is likely career-ending.

Aw damn. :(

Yeah, it really sucks. So hard to have an unbeaten MGSW filly, and then this. Owned by her breeder.

Jeremy Balan‏@BH_JBalan
Owner Joe Turner says Sircat Sally sustained a fracture in her leg during the San Clemente. She will have surgery & is retired from racing.

Boo. Back in the winter I met one of her connections who was so proud of her even then. At least she can go make little Sallies.

She really got my eye in one of her early wins, this sucks, nice filly. But she's alive, and hopefully all will be well.
