The Belmont Derby this coming Saturday could be a very exciting race. Along with the speedy Kitten's Joy ridgling Oscar Performance, we get a couple of Coolmore War Front colts, Whitecliffsofdover and Homesman. But, for me, the horse I'm watching is the Heart's Cry colt, Yoshida. He's been very impressive in his two races, winning both from the front and from behind, but this step up to G1 competition will be quite a test.

They've done a nice job with this day. The sprint race should be great. Really looking forward to it.

Not according to Frank Mirahmadi. While I think MYBs is the well deserving favorite going 7 furlongs, FM dismissed Unified rather cavalierly on the Belmont Live broadcast on Monday, suggesting he'll never defeat Biscuits again.

I like MYB, but let's not crown him the modern day Groovy or Housebuster just yet. He beat a rather suspect field in Dubai after losing to Unified straight up on a day when he held a fitness advantage. He better hope for a pace duel between Unified and Green Grotto because he's going to have to try and go get Unified late again, imo. Both training like beasts (could only say 'wow' after seeing the breeze where he was in company with Green Grotto) , but I see Jerkins trying to bridge that last 1/16th gap in Unified's recent breezes with 5 furlong works. Wouldn't be shocked with a blowout today or tomorrow to signal he's blasting out of there on Saturday to loop outside GG and straight to the front, and hope he's put enough bottom into him to finish, because of relative odds, he's the only one of the two I would bet. Tommy Macho will be coming late also, and a much better betting option odds-wise as well.

Hopefully, gonna be a great matchup again.

I don't even know what he said. Racing is almost like the rest of the world in that it's best with a low information diet. And entirely too much what you have done for me lately. Prior to that Dubai win people didn't even think he was the best sprinter in this nation and now they fall over themselves. Cognitive dissonance is real. Given sprinters, at least to me, never stay in top form for the entire year anything is possible.

That's not to say MYB isn't very talented. He is.

Excited that one of my favorites Battalion Runner is making his return to racing after a freshening and a series of excellent works on Sat in the Dwyer. Is NBC-SN covering this race and the Suburban or just TVG? Thanks

I just checked my DirecTV schedule and it looks like NBCSN is going to be all car racing, all afternoon on Saturday.
However, regular network NBC has a 1 1/2-hour slot of racing (described as BC Challenge Series; Belmont Oaks) on from 1:30-3 Pacific/4:30-6 Eastern, so everybody should be able to see a few Belmont races. Just don't know WHICH races NBC will show. :?
There is a one-hour slot of Belmont racing on Prime Ticket (DirecTV 693) from 3 PM Pacific/6 PM Eastern to 4/7, but again, we don't know which races we'll get in that short hour.
That leaves TVG as the one reliable source for all the Belmont races on Saturday. :P

Had to satisfy my own curiosity, so I checked DRF's Belmont entries for Saturday.
Looks like the Dwyer (R6) goes off at 4:38 ET, the Belmont Sprint Championship (R7) at 5:13, the Belmont Oaks Invitational (R8) at 5:46, the Suburban (R9) at 6:18, and the Belmont Derby Invitational (R10) at 6:50.
So NBC can only carry the Dwyer, Sprint and Oaks, while Prime Ticket's slot only makes time for the Suburban and Derby.
I hope everyone finds a way to watch the whole card, because it looks like a fine day of racing.

You'll probably get the turf ones. I can ask.
