Could a superior grass colt gets the Eclipse for 3yo male?

No.

I know the Older Male was changed to specify dirt, but why would the 3yo Male title be confined to only dirt runners when there is no separate 3yo Turf Male category? :P

Woodford Racing's Timeline kept his undefeated streak alive, coasting to an easy victory in the $100,000 Betfair.com Pegasus Stakes (G3) June 18 at Monmouth Park.

Nice win by Timeline, but... :(
Timeline suffers cut on hind leg in Pegasus triumph
Timeline did everything asked of him at Monmouth Park on Sunday and is Haskell-bound after winning the Grade 3 Pegasus by 3 1/2 lengths.
But sometimes things are not as simple as they seem, and on Sunday night trainer Chad Brown said Timeline had been stepped on during the race and had a cut on his right hind leg.
The injury appears superficial, according to Brown, who added that Timeline sprung a shoe and "showed his toughness today. He is a very tough horse."

Oh, dear! :-( Hope it is superficial and he will be okay.

wasn't the older turf changed to just turf, to cover all ages? or was it always all ages?
edit; kitten's joy and high chaparral won it at age 3 in '04 and '02 (and in '03 at 4, good horsey! was very sad when we lost him) respectively. so i still say yes, he should (assuming the hypothetical scenario plays out), but he's probably ineligible or whatever  '02 and '04 3yr old colt went to war emblem and smarty jones, respectively, for what that's worth.

every age and every surface needs a gold star, so with all the bickering i didn't keep up, except the "TOLDJA SO" that came along with the change (which wasn't nearly as bad here as elsewhere).

Airplanes are actually much, much safer than trains and cars when it comes to flying.

I don't remember there ever being an Older Turf Male category, or an Older Turf Female, for that matter. My brain is more steel sieve than steel trap these days, so I may be 'miss-remembering.' ;)
So, it would seem that, as it stands, there are awards for 3yo Males & 3yo Females, and Older Males & Older Females, and those are supposed to go to dirt runners?
But there are only single awards for Turf Males & Turf Females, open to 3yo & up? :?
I'd like to see the wording of the rules for the Eclipse Awards that stipulates that the 3yo Male or 3yo Female can not go to a grass runner.
