Maybe not. I just saw Cupid schooling in the Del Mar paddock (looking sensational!) and heard the tail end of a conversation about him by the TVG folks. Sounded like he was running in an upcoming Del Mar stakes on Wednesday. :?
Checked the entries for Wednesday and, sure enough, he's entered in the 1-mile, $75,000 Harry F. Brubaker Stakes.
Would Baffert run the Tapit colt here...and then in the Woodward on such a short turn-around? Could some other horse from his barn be headed back to the Spa? It's not like he doesn't have another older male to choose from. :P
I seriously doubt he'd go to the Woodward if he goes Wednesday. My guess is that Cupid will run at DMR and Baffert can then either go the Awesome Again/BCDM route with him or the JCGC/BCC route with him. If he doesn't look to be up to the BC this year, hold Cupid out until the Clark. I'm just guessing but I wouldn't be shocked to see Danzing Candy in the Pat O'Brien with Baffert trying to decide between either the BC Sprint or Dirt Mile. If he saw enough in that race down the hill, earlier this year, it might be fun to see Danzing Candy in the Turf Sprint.

Yeah...but how much fun will it be for DC, watching Lady's Aurelia's pretty hindquarters powering away from him?

It's a long time between now and the BC. A couple of months ago Arrogate was inked as the Pacific Classic winner. Sometimes you have to put your horse where they fit and not worry about who they're going to go against.

Update on Mor Spirit... Bob Baffert says the horse wasn't doing well at Del Mar, so he stopped his training and is giving him some time off.

I feel like Bob Baffert would love to see this Del Mar meet over and in his rear view mirror. :( And that he would give one of his heart valves to have the Breeders' Cup running anywhere else.

At least Cupid churned out a thoroughly workmanlike win.
I ran marathons. I saw the Taj Mahal by Moonlight. I drove Highway 1 in a convertible. I petted Zenyatta.

Well I guess we know why Baffert decided not to ship Cupid east for the Woodward. He said the horse was sick; hopefully the horse really doesn't mind the track and just needed the race.

Oh what a shame. He had been doing so well. Sure glad it's not life threatening though. Happy Retirement, Danzing Candy!

Canadian International On The Table For Idaho After Sword Dancer Disappointment
The Coolmore partners' 4-year-old Idaho, winner of the Group 2 Hardwicke Stakes and recent third in the Group 1 King George VI & Queen Elizabeth, journeyed to the United States last weekend to contest the Grade 1 Sword Dancer at Saratoga. The Galileo colt left the starting gates as the favorite for the 1 1/2-mile contest, but weakened late to finish sixth under Ryan Moore.

Despite the disappointment, trainer Aidan O'Brien is considering sending Idaho to Woodbine's G1 Pattison Canadian International on Oct. 15, reports theirishfield.ie. Idaho competed in the race last season, finishing fifth and beaten just 2 1/2 lengths overall.

“He's probably going to be best in a good race with plenty of pace on and a good galloping track,” O'Brien said. “It's possible he could go back to Woodbine, but not definite as he went to Woodbine last year and they didn't go much of a pace in front of him. It was a very steady pace.”

He may be the son of a teaser, but just look at him go
Rarely is a race run at Deauville on the last weekend in August ever expected to have a bearing on the Melbourne Cup, but we may have witnessed an exception on Sunday. And, if Tiberian, the winner of the G2 Grand Prix de Deauville, does happen to pick up the Melbourne Cup on the first Tuesday in November, scarcely a more romantic tale of the Turf will have been written.

Tiberian, you see, is the son of little-known Tiberius Caesar, whose principal occupation had long been as a teaser for his more popular stablemates on the stallion roster at French establishment Haras Du Logis, home to many Darley sires over the years.

In an attempt to maintain his libido, Tiberius Caesar, once a purchase from an £8,000 claimer, was permitted to serve the Marju mare Tomasina. The result was Tiberian, who has now won six of his 17 starts and is set to go into quarantine at Newmarket next month, prior to a trip to Melbourne.

For part-owner Julian Ince, manager of Haras Du Logis, it has been almost like a dream. “He is running well, and we feel he will like the conditions in Melbourne later in the year,” Ince said.

Welcome updates on Shaman Ghost:
We've had a couple inquiries about Shaman Ghost since his surgery. He is doing great in fact he is already back in his stall at Belmont.
Shaman will return to training as soon as appropriate.
