Thanks, those sectional times are freaky, but exactly what it looked like. I was concerned about the pace and where Hugh had her back for so long. Silly me.

Glad we'll see Youngstar again, surprised I've not noted her before now. I'm beat, off to bed for me.

Wasn't his smartest effort but she got him out of strife. Any other horse & maybe any other track you might have been worried. But that was never in doubt.

In terms of TV coverage it was live on 2 free to air channels.

I believe the streaming sites have rights to different racetracks. The one RugbyGirl gave out is good for Sydney as I understand it

For future reference https://www.racing.com/live-vision.aspx should get you Melbourne races - including the Cup, Cox Plate etc

Whoopsie. I'm a kiwi but I knew about Melb/Syd rights thing but clean forgot with 1 MTP and trying to send a link as quick as I could

I've found it easier to tear up tickets at 8/1 instead of 8/5.

Ooooh... :o
Winx's owner suggests wondermare might race again after Cox Plate
Winx's part-owner Peter Tighe has tantalisingly raised the tantalising prospect of the record-breaking champion staying in training beyond the Ladbrokes Cox Plate.
Australia's premier middle-distance weight-for-age Group 1 has traditionally marked the end of the superstar mare's spring campaign, and many assumed she would be retired after her attempt to win an unprecedented fourth Cox Plate at Moonee Valley on October 27.
But Tighe, who was at Caulfield on Wednesday to watch Performer finish fourth in the Group 3 Catanach's Jewellers Blue Sapphire Stakes, stated the 21-time Group 1 winner, who has won her last 28 starts, could run again in the Australian autumn.
"It hasn't even been discussed," he said of her potential post-Cox Plate retirement. "A lot of people think she might do that [retire], but by racing in the Cox Plate she'll miss the breeding season, so we'll put her out for a spell and she'll tell us during that spell if she wants to come back.

Must give credit to Chris Waller, Hugh Bowman, Debbie Kepitis and Peter Tighe they have been inundated by the media this week but they have all cheerfully done numerous interviews and media requests despite the same questions over and over again!

Here is Chris Waller on Australias The Today Show (equivalent of Good Morning America)

Frankly i Hope they retire her after this year: she is 7 years old and she has a lot miles on her--- she has done everything one could possibly ask a horse to accomplish and she is a legend. Continuing to race her IMO increases chances for injury.

Wow. Can you imagine a major US newspaper, like the Los Angeles or New York Times, devoting 16 pages and all the headlines to a horse race? :o
I am so jealous.

Will TVG carry this race? I usually wake up 2 minutes too late and see the replay on the laptop. Tonight I set my alarm

Yes, TVG is showing the race. I mean, they better, after spending all week promoting the race and regularly showing a count-down clock at the bottom of the screen. :P

TVG's Candace Hare is back in Australia to cover the card. They just showed her interviewing the 'Valley's track announcer, who teased her a little for wearing a Winx-blue dress.
I feel a little sorry for Candace; whoever did her make-up apparently feels that, when it comes to adding false eyelashes & mascara, more is better.
Y'know, it becomes a little counter-productive if you weigh the eyelids down with so much glue and lashes that the wearer ends up uncomfortably squinting.
