He passed those 2 other workers easily. Wonder if that was by design? I wonder who had the bullet for 6 fur?

On its face the double-take-worthy run trainer Bob Baffert has been on is impressive enough.

Since the Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (G1), the Hall of Fame conditioner has won 14 of the 18 dirt stakes he's entered.

But that recent record is put in the proper context when you consider what he still has loaded in his holster—most notably the gray freight train known as Arrogate.

The four-time group/grade 1 winner and $17-million earner—and arguably the best horse in the world—continued preparations for his first start since his Dubai World Cup Sponsored By Emirates Airline (G1) victory with a six-furlong breeze July 2 at Santa Anita Park.

Maybe Bob wanted a slightly easier work after a fast work last week. I thought maybe he would pass that other worker in the stretch, but seemed in no hurry.. just an easy maintenance breeze- Arro appeared quite relaxed.

He also appeared thicker, more muscular. Does not look like a colt anymore, but more like a mature stallion.
I can understand why Baffert is being very conservative with his star charge's race schedule. Even if we discount Unbridled's Song's rep for not-so-sound offspring, that boy is carrying a lot of weight on those ankles.

Never seen him take as much "encouragement" as he did this morning, I didn't find it a particularly pleasing work overall.

Arrogate gets 1:11 flat for six furlongs. :24, :35 3/5, :47 2/5, :59 1/5. Gallop out to seven furlongs in 1:23 1/5.

!!!!
I've found it easier to tear up tickets at 8/1 instead of 8/5.
