LOL! Homeboy Kris was a naughty boy today. He really didn't want Froggyville to pass him.

Tweet from Homeboy's trainer:

Congrats to the 8 year old Immortal Eyes, one of my very favorite geldings, on his win in the Frank J. De Francis Memorial Dash today. He won in a hand ride by almost 7 lengths.

This was his 17th win in 47 starts, and the winner's share of the $350k purse bumped him up over the $1 million mark :D

I still can't believe he was 9-1. He's better than he's ever been.

* Looking at that photo of Homeboy Kris, it appears that he has an X nose band criss-crossing over his nose, which pretty much keeps a horse's mouth shut. All he could really do was bare his teeth at Froggy (who, I notice, wears the same sort of nose band). Which he certainly did...with bad intent.
* Still, Froggy could not have known that he was safe, and felt like he was about to get bitten. :o

Successful Dan likely done for year. No BC, nor, it seems, Fayette. LoPresti said today he's tired, may get rest of year off. #breederscup

The odds-on favorite in the race, Eastwood, was a Pletcher 3yo with two lifetime starts. I hope he was taking notes.

California Flag gets a race named after him next weekend at Santa Anita. As you'd expect, it's a turf sprint down the hill :D

California Flag...I hope that handsome fellow has found a second career that he loves. He just seemed to have too much energy to be content with being merely a pasture pet.

9yo Chamberlain Bridge is retired, as of Sept. 15. He was a $35K claimer when Carl Moore and Bret Calhoun got him; he went on to win the BC Turf Sprint in 2010. 53-19-9-11, $1,953,016.

Gotta love Ribo Bobo! He won the Maryland Million Sprint Handicap today for his 2nd stakes win of the year. Not bad for a gelding who was claimed for $8k in January. He's now 9 for 9 this year and has won those races by close to a combined 50 lengths.
