Ironicus had his first work since the Manhattan; getting three furlongs in 0:37.98. The goal is the Shadwell Turf Mile in October.

Hootenanny is entered in a $17k turf allowance race at Belterra on Saturday. Confidence booster, anyone?

And I would guess he's the first Royal Ascot/Breeders' Cup winner to run there

Actually, Wesley Ward has been shipping several horses to Belterra for turf races lately. We ran in a MSW there against a Galileo filly out of Cash Run (BC Juvenile winner who sold for over $7 mil).

Simon Callaghan says he may train Firing Line up to the Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile; there is also a chance he may start in the Awesome Again.

On Saturday, Keen Ice worked five furlongs in 1:02.33 over the Oklahoma training track in company with Protonico, another stakes-winning older horse who has not been out since last year’s Clark Handicap at Churchill Downs.
No specific race is being targeted with Keen Ice, though Protonico may return in the Seattle Slew next Saturday at Belmont.

Divining Rod has made a successful return to racing after being off for a year.

Divining Rod wins Parx comeback race following a year layoff
Divining Rod, winner of the Lexington Stakes at Keeneland and the third-place finisher in the Preakness in 2015, won his first start in just over a year at Parx on Monday.
Divining Rod hadn't started since finishing fifth in the Smarty Jones Stakes a year ago. He won the one-mile, second-level optional claiming race by a half-length. He is now 3 for 10 in his career.
Divining Rod is based with trainer Arnaud Delacour at Fair Hill. Delacour said Divining Rod had some physical issues at the end of his 3-year-old campaign and it took him longer than anticipated to recover from them.
Divining Rod had been entered to run on turf at Laurel Park on Aug. 21 but was scratched when that race was transferred to the main track because of wet weather.
A 4-year-old son of Tapit, Divining Rod was bred and is owned by the Lael Stables of Roy and Gretchen Jackson.

He worked in company with Hoppertunity. Per the DRF Dortmund is possible for the Awesome Again while Hoppertunity may ship east for the Jockey Club Gold Cup.

I'm glad to see him do well. But it makes me sad that they never announced his dam died earlier this year, I know they don't have to and I respect their wishes. She was just really popular.

I think Precious Kitten was only 13. :( So young.
Is there any info about what caused her death?

Oh that's sad... I didn't even know Precious Kitten had passed.

Isn't our mariasmon her biggest fan?

They never released anything. She just has a death report with the Jockey Club from 2016, someone on the other forum found it when TBC was down earlier in the year. They were looking to see if she had produced a foal this year and saw the report.
