What makes you think Cozmic One be good at 3-day eventing? I always think the best horses for that have a good willing mind, and athleticism, and courage, and intelligence.

He's not in that MSW either. Maybe he just needs more time between starts like his brother.

There's "more time" and then there's "too much time". If a horse needs over a year off between starts (ie his brother), it shouldn't be racing.

Cozmic One only has one work in the last 60 days (7/10). That's pretty much a year to the day of his last race, so maybe they finally threw in the towel

Switch barns.. John Shirreffs has never been a great trainer. Benefactor of having the right horse fall on his lap like Ron Turcotte as a jockey. I try to imagine how much greater Zenyatta would have been if she had a trainer like Bob Baffert or Bill Mott? I blame Shirreffs more than Blame for her lone defeat. Wasted 2010 campaign. Lousy record by JS this year.
Rock Hard Ten. Zenyatta. Cigar. Ghostzapper. Lava Man. California Chrome. American Pharoah. Seattle Slew. Secretariat. Affirmed.

What?! Are you serious? Ron was only 37 years old when a racing accident left him paralyzed. But during his career, Ron rode Northern Dancer to his maiden win, Tom Rolfe to win the Preakness, and Riva Ridge to win the Kentucky Derby and Belmont Stakes. His Triple Crown aboard Secretariat is legendary. He was the first and only jockey to win five consecutive Triple Crown races until that feat was matched by Victor Espinoza.

Ron's career spanned only 19 years, from his days walking hots for E. P. Taylor to the day of his accident. Yet in that time he had 3,032 career wins, including many stakes. He rode some of the top horses of his day, including Arts and Letters, Crafty Lace, Dahlia, Damascus, Dark Mirage, Fanfreluche, Fort Marcy, Politely, Quadrangle, Shuvee, and Upper Case in addition to the aforementioned Northern Dancer, Tom Rolfe, Riva Ridge and Secretariat. Ron was inducted into multiple Halls of Fame.

That's one heck of a career for someone you think only had the right horse "fall in his lap."

Baffert would not have done anything with her. Would've fried her working her fast.
