Best of luck to Ben's Cat! I'm not sure I hope he wins though.

When is enough....enough? Apparently 10 years, 60 races and 2.4 million dollars isn't enough.
I love this horse but frankly I hope Ben's Cat runs very safely and very slowly in his next race.

Ben's Cat finished 5th---time to retire him--he's done enough

Actually, it was not a bad race for him. He was a bit pinched when Trevor tried to angle him toward the rail in the stretch, and the first five were pretty well bunched at the wire. Decent enough effort that he'll be back. Not saying I like it, but unless something really goes awry, I'm guessing he will continue to race all year.

Yeah, I doubt this race encourages King to retire him. I thought he looked pretty good - he was left with too much to do at the end there.

Back for the Jim McKay Turf Sprint at Pimlico this week.

At age 11, he needs a bit more luck than in previous seasons. Go get 'em boy...

While I do agree, if he were mine I would've retired him last year. But, I was there for the race in which he ran 5th. He was beaten by less than a length. When horses passed him he rallied. He was covered up and of all the races I've seen Ben prefers the outside. For the most part. He has always been good after a layoff. I'm rooting for him but I think this race will tell if he can still compete at the level we are used to seeing from him. He still has the heart but the body may not be as nimble as it once was.

Well is this finally the race that prompts retirement--thank God he came home safe and sound
