G3SW Point Piper was claimed for $10,000 on 11/12 at Del Mar and retired to stud. No stud details were released. He is by Giant's Causeway out of Imagine by Sadler's Wells. Imagine won the 2001 Epsom Oaks and 1000 Guineas and is a 1/2 sister to Epsom Derby winner Generous. https://www.drf.com/news/g...

Re: Mendelssohn

Has AOB been running more of his horses on the same pattern as CoM? Namely, having lots of races over a relatively short time frame, then being off for a few months, then going back to another very busy stretch of racing. It netted CoM mostly 3rd and 4th place finishes, which doesn't sound all that...

Re: 2018 Keeneland November Sale

Anyone know who Red Scarf Racing is? The name does not show up in Equibase. Its a new entity. No horses have been bought under this name before the 2018 Keeneland sale. To me it looks like a regional breeder looking for cheaper mares who have strong pedigrees. They got some REALLY cheap mares with ...

I ran into this article about Worldly Slew (aka Sonny) a claimer who raced 104 times from 1994 - 2001.

K J Warrior ---> Girvin Assuming all these are going to Girvin as well since they said they are buying mares to send to him. I'm to lazy to type them all out but you can see them at the link. Plus pedigrees if you want to click on them. The list will also update if they buy more in future sessions....

Bal a Bali at 125 is interesting. Since Tiznow's sons have been such disappointments at stud it would be interesting if he really produces, and he becomes the one to continue the In Reality line and not a Tiznow son. And it would be so appropriate given that line's tendency to be carried forward by...

I'm absolutely tickled that Elizabeth is still riding at 92. That's impressive. What an inspiration for those of us who are no longer youngsters. :D Looking at their mounts, I'm curious about the breed ( which is not mentioned in the article ). With the small size, sturdy build and feathered legs, ...

Re: Matings 2018

Tachyon, who owns Arrow Stud? With only 1000 mares between 37 stallions, it doesn't seem like an entirely... commercial operation. There are only around 7000 foals born annually in Japan, so getting 1000 mares doesn't seem that bad to me. The Yoshida brothers' farms produce a 1/5 of the foals thems...

Re: California mares bred to Stronach stallions...$500

Remember when Stronach used to sell what seemed like hundreds of mares at the fall auctions in foal to and with a free season to his stallions? It always felt like quantity over quality then.

How is Lookin at Lucky/Awesome Again unfashionable? Lookin at Lucky stands for $17,500 and while he can sire a nice horse, he isn't one of the leading stallions. Without Accelerate's earnings, he'd go from #9 to around #40 on the leading sire list. None of the others drop that far if you remove the...

While that's good news for California breeders, it doesn't seem to be a positive commentary on his Japanese breeding career. Big Red Farm paid $10 million for him, and now they're shipping him back to California after only five seasons? I doubt that $10 million exchanged hands this time. :? ...

Her mane definitely darkened, it looks just slightly lighter than her coat now. There is a pretty good closeup further toward the end of the replay.
